Every year a new trend seems more prominent than the year before, and this year it’s taken full hold of the fashion world. This trend? Nautical/Sailor themed ensembles. These looks can be pieced together using a variety of fashion staples and new jewelry pieces that go with the theme.

As I mentioned before, Jean Charles de Castelbajac has a very nautical inspired theme this upcoming Spring/Summer season. Similarly, everyone from Tommy Hilfiger to Chanel are pulling these looks.
My take: 
The striped dress is from Forever 21 for a mere $12.50, while the sunglasses are Urban Outfitters ($18), and the Hello Sailor necklace is from TopShop ($30), isn’t it so cute?!? The head scarf was from the thrift store Savers for $7. The shoes are SO comfy, let me point that out, and from Nine West for only $30.
You can find jewelry and accessories like these at all your favorite bargain stores like H&M, Forever 21, and Claire’s. Stripes are very in this season, so to make them fit with this trend, I suggest going with navy and white or red and white.
As for more obvious sailor-esque dresses and tops, I’ve found some great cute, yet cheap, alternatives to the swanky Chanel and Castelbajac. Forever 21 has this adorable number for $22.80, which is a perfect blend of nautical colors, strips, and girly frills. For a top, I am completely in love with Forever’s Linen Sailor Tunic, for $24.80. SO CUTE.
