Z and I’s house, which we’ve been in for a little over 2 months now, is truly beginning to feel like home. I hope you find a place like that as well, or many places and people.

Lao Tzu is one of my favorite quotables, this line being no exception. I chose it as this week’s MMI because of the image that goes along with the quote here; Loving yourself is more important than loving others and being loved. When all is said and done at the end of the day, you need to be able to love yourself in order to have a happy life.

Alrighty, guys. Take a couple minutes to gawk at the puppy dog eyes. Now, let’s read the quote. “Someone is looking up to you. Don’t let that person down.” I chose this image this week because you truly never know who is looking up to you, judging what you do and learning from you. Monkey see as monkey does, and you never know who you’re affecting with your actions. A pet, a child, a stranger on the street, a peer in class or work… Be sure that you’re always putting on your best, and are aware and conscientious of your actions.

Fun Fact: I once (maybe kind of still do) wanted a tattoo across my chest that said “here’s to feeling infinite”, an ode to those moments where life just HITS YOU and is like “you are alive, this is real, this is amazing”. Iconic moments. Many of mine have happened while at NYFW, whether it was being a guest at Alice + Olivia’s presentation or walking the runway myself for Avril Limieux. Other times have been seeing my favorite bands in concert, getting goosebumps in 90 degree weather over live versions of songs I’d played on repeat as a 13 year old.
Nowadays, I’m in a constant state of awe; so grateful for all the good that’s happening right now, even with all the stress it has brought with it. I’m grateful for the best daily company; Z and Maven. And I’m grateful for my conscientious noticing of all the good things I have right now.
I hope you too find things you are grateful for, people that make your life complete, moments that make you feel alive, and passion that lights your fire.
