Perspextive

J Crew trousers (get them on sale here)
Public Desire booties (get them here!)(similar here)
GAP shirt (similar here)

The lucite block heel and a skin tight patent boot of the ubiquitous “perspex bootie” is fastly on the rise. After first being shown on the Dior runway for Fall 2015 these shoes are finally making it mainstream with celebs like Kim K and Kylie Jenner donning them. Now they’re making their way into the blogosphere via fast fashion dupes.

When I found this pair by Public Desire I KNEW I had to have them. They arrived and I was in love, but also perplexed. How can I style these? How do not look like night walk in the day?

I decided they’re such a statement they need something minimal and almost conservative to go with them. And that I CAN make them work appropriate. Next time though I’m going bold and baring.

I wish that I could be like the cool kids

They’re driving fast cars
But they don’t know where they’re going
In the fast lane
Living life without knowing

Trend I’m loving now? Lingerie in the real world. I’d pondered how to delve into this look in a classy way; not trashy or skanky, but edgy and put together, and true to my personal style. When I layered my negligee beneath a cozy loose knit sweater, I knew it was a match made in sartorial heaven. Adding an on-trend fringe bag and bohemian jewels pulled the look to Que Sera Sahra standards.

I’m a Good Girl and You Know it

This look, worn to The DC Ladies’ 5th anniversary party, is maybe one of my favorite outfits EVER. I think it’s a flawless encapsulation of everything that defines my Que Sera Sahra style; a little urban, a little feminine, a little glam rocker (especially with my trusty leather jacket); and all around fun. AKA the perfect outfit to showcase my style to a bunch of strangers (who were friends by the end of the night)!

Neon Cool

A perfect suburban summer casual cool look. Holy hell that’s a lot of adjectives, but it gets the point across. Half the time I feel too old to be rockin’ these “hipster” coined ensembles, but it suburbia, barely employed, I think it’s okay. And, I’m only 22, just barely out of my teens, or so I keep telling myself. There’s no rush to grow up just yet, even if there’s plenty of pressure.

Life’s a Gamble

This look is the first I’m sharing with you from my photoshoot with New England photographer, Dark Side Images. This look was put together in my head, slightly better, for weeks, and when the day came to finally don it it was raining, but this dice black and red umbrella fit perfectly with the look!

I was somewhat inspired bythe concept of casinos. Also, my parents love going to Foxwoods and other nearby casinos. Me? I tried my hand at gambling in Atlantic City on New Years but haven’t made it back to a casino since.

Life is Too Short to Care What Others Think

Getting in on my spring time brights and breaking out some sneakers. These are one of my favorite pair of kicks, but living in NYC I rarely find wear for them, so I’m sure they’re happy I’m in MA for a few weeks. Sure, shoes can have feelings too, right?

Also, this is one of my favorite tee shirts ever, for obvious reasons. Crass and bold, and it always gets people to stare at my chest, for better reasons than is more common!

Playing Dress Up

After a weekend of fun, work, boozing, and football, my roommates and I were ready to be productive and creative. I decided to let the twins take the reigns with Brittnay styling and Courtnay behind the camera. Also, we utilized the amazing  communal closet we have in this apartment. 4 fashionistas clothes in one apartment? Endless inspiration and outfits. What came out was magical, and giving me so much content for this week, so be ready folks!

Now, some previews…

New Shoes

Back in May, while out shopping with my friend Sarah, I stopped by cheap-o shop Rainbow. I fell in love.

Gold glittering heels with red, yellow, and blue straps…70’s, glam, and perfection.

I thought about them. for months. I mean, this was back in MAY.

Until, one hungover morning adventure with my new roommate we ventured into Rainbow and GUESS WHAT!?  THOSE SHOES WERE ON SALE. for TEN DOLLARS.

Cheap, glam and amazing. They’re now mine. Oh, heavenly. Say what you want, trash talk them, but I LOVE THEM. I’ve been wearing them around the house anytime I’m home since I got them. omg.
