Freedom Hangs Like Heaven Over Everyone

Fun, inspired, and almost completely vintage look that I absolutely love to wear! The dress was handmade for my grandmother in Russia many, many years ago, and the Liz Claiborne hat was also inherited from her. I purchased the vest from a thrift shop literally about 10 years ago, and still find ways to wear it!
The spiked bracelet is from TopShop, the ring is from Francesca’s Collection, and the bangles are from various shops, including Target!

America, Eff Yeah!

Fun Patriotic look I wore to feel festive on the third. Also wore it out to a Fourth of July party in Providence!

Rings from Forever 21 and Aldo

Oh, and let’s not forget that nothing says “MURRRRICA” more than McDonald’s and apple pie!

New American Classic

Outfit: As seen in my video haul! Wore this look out shopping with my mum, and to drinks and dinner with her and my father. A lovely retro vintage dress made slightly more “me” and modern with my over worn leather jacket, Aldo wedges, and Belt that was a gift from Alicat Avril Lemeiux.

Funny little bit: my mom and I ordered drinks, then realized we had coincidentally matched our drinks to our nails!

JC+LF+Sushi

Last night I attended the launch of Jeffrey Campbell’s new bag line at a Fourth of July party at LF stores in SoHo.  I walked into free lemonade from girls wearing various pieces of American Flag apparel (totally IN right now, right?) and cupcakes, cake, and everything themed. I immediately found my fellow blogger friends amongst the plethora of associates mixed with the “too cool for school” teenage crowd.

After saying hello and getting accustomed to the situation I took a look around the store. to be honest, I was scared for my life. LF Stores is the epitome of force fed fashion, catering to the personality and personal taste-less followers of the Nylon bible. You’ve got your crop tops, American flag shorts, fringed “vintage” tees, and all-you-can-wear high waisted “vintage” Levi shorts. Oh, and did I mention the Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s?

Amongst the rubble of fashion vomit I managed to find the Sam Edelman heels I’ve been lusting after, as well as this gorgeous kimono.

Okay, so I don’t completely hate the shop. I think, piece by piece, they are some amazing finds. But for the most part, I’d rather not be force fed my daily dose of Nylon Magazine’s poolings all at once.

Anyway, so after waiting through two bag giveaways (one of which was won by my dear friend Monroe!), 6 of us decided to go for sushi at Noodle Zen on St. Mark’s.

Since I’d already had sushi for lunch, I opted for a vegetable tempura udon, which was quite good, especially alongside my orange chu-hi beverage.

Now for what I wore:

Misfits tee from Hot Topic (DIY/cutout myself)

Forever 21 shorts

Aldo Wedges

Gifted R&Em bag (can be found here)

Peter Grimm hat

TopShop bracelets

And now I leave you with this photobooth strip of Nicole and I making funny faces! ❤

Girl Crush: Alice Point

Again, with another Polish girl, man these girls have style! Alice Point is a blogger and now a collaborative designer, from Poland. Her style? Totally rock n’ roll meets backstage runway. And I’m so happy to have found her. There’s not much else to say, though, so here’s a few images from her blog :

She kind of makes me want to party and get drunk and be fearless…Total lust. She seems to consistently rock some of my favorite brands like Wild Fox Couture and Blackmilk, mixed in with alternates.

Memorial Day

I know American flag shirts are all the rage currently, and I have worn one before, but today felt as best a day as ever to break it out again and show my pride.

Bracelet from somewhere in Soho; either a street vendor or TopShop

My Memorial Day started off with a touch of New England rain, but by the time my mother and I left our first store in our shopping excursion it was beautifully sunny and 87 degrees. The day only got better, with more shopping and then seeing The Hangover II with my boyfriend (which I thought was hilarious but he still preferred the first one). Then it was back to the good ol’ Big Apple for me.

I’ll post a picture of the things I got while shopping soon, but for now, enjoy the weather and get off your computers!
