Another Long Winter Trying to Fight this Freeze

Waiting on the cold’s got a hold on me
a hold on me
so hold onto me

Baby, it’s COLD outside! Here in the north east it’s been a steady ten degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of days now and all I have to say is praise the gods for Uniqlo’s HeatTech, I honestly don’t know how I survived before I discovered with almost 3 years ago…This heat generating line features Japanese technology in light weight basics which are perfect for looking effortlessly chic in these below freezing temps.

To Maine, With Love

The suitcases are packed with swimsuits and sweaters, sunscreen and bug spray. I’m ready for warm beachy days and breezy nights. I’m feeling Parisian as I leave Southern Massachusetts, and though Scarborough is no Paris, I know I’m in for a good vacation. Don’t worry readers, I have posts queued up for you to read whilst I enjoy the beach!

I’ll Take You In Pieces, We Can Take it All Apart

WOW it’s been a crazy day! If you follow me on InstaGram (@EffortlessCoolSahra) you’d have noticed that I was at work bright and early, narrowly avoided a fatal car accident, had a court hearing, ate lots of deliciousness, and a doctor’s appointment; all before the 90210 Season Finale. WOAH, right?

Barami flats

Rings from Forever 21 & Urban Outfitters

Nail polish: Esse and Nails Inc 3D Glitter

The above photos were taken behind the courthouse; while the below were taken at a fun little shop my sister and I happened upon in Cumberland, RI called Green Label Boutique.

New American Classic

Outfit: As seen in my video haul! Wore this look out shopping with my mum, and to drinks and dinner with her and my father. A lovely retro vintage dress made slightly more “me” and modern with my over worn leather jacket, Aldo wedges, and Belt that was a gift from Alicat Avril Lemeiux.

Funny little bit: my mom and I ordered drinks, then realized we had coincidentally matched our drinks to our nails!

Go Local withMeInto!

Due to the recession, a major focus has been placed on more local businesses. As consumers, especially in the slowly drowning fashion business, we need to do our part to support smaller businesses.

One online website is completely revolutionizing how we can do this. MeInto brings local boutiques’ merchandise to consumers across the world! On the site you can view apparel by style, boutique, and location. Not only do they have womenswear, they also have accessories, some KILLER jewelry, menswear, and childrenswear.

Here are my favorite pics from their current women’s collections:

Striped Biker Jacket $60 fromUmgee

Blue Dress $56 from Lush

Sequin Jacket $249 from Betsy Moss

As you can see, they’re very on trend with the sheer maxis and leather accents.

These boutiques, and the site, carry hundreds of different brands, and is a great all in one place to find both classic vintage pieces, and newer top brands like J Brand and Miss Me. Right now, they are also having free shipping! Take advantage, and if you’re looking for some great more formal dresses, check there first and support local business!

Also, even greater news; MeInto is doing a Facebook giveaway and YOU could win a $1000 wardrobe! Like their page, upload a video, and good luck!

Rafaello and Co. Jewelry

Friday evening I brought some of my fellow NYC Fashion Bloggers to the lovely showroom of Rafaello and Co Jewelry.  In this international jewelers they do custom pieces such as necklaces, watches, et cetera for high end clientele including many famous rappers.

LOVE the cat ring (you know, for $30,000 or so) and that fuschia watch? $60,000. Oh, I cannot wait until the days when I can afford something nice for myself!

For this event I came in a Diane Von Furstenberg dress, Wild Pair heels, Forever 21 belt, and an H&M jacket. Fancy, yet fun, and it flowed perfectly into my Friday night festivities.

Weekend in The Mountains

Now that all my NYFW posts are done, it’s time I post those pictures from my three days away. My silly cousin decided to get married down in Pennsylvania smack dab in the middle of fashion week, but I must say that although I know I missed some amazing shows, taking the time to get away was quite relieving. Here’s a few random pictures from my adventures and the wedding!

The road trip down:

Yuengling Brewery Tour:

Now, I’m not a fan of beer, but my parents are so they thought it would be fun to take a tour of America’s Oldest Brewery. Not going to lie, it was pretty cool. I even tasted some of the beer at the end! Octoberfest, yum (it’s not even in bars or stores yet!)

The Wedding!

YES, my hair matched my dress (from Express). I tried to stay classy, drinking my Twisted Teas, and attempting to last all night in my Bakers heels. My family eventually broke out the hula hoops and before long it was dark and I was driving a Jeep through the mountains lost for 2 hours with drunk uncles in the back. Not going to lie, it was a great time!

Anyway, the next morning it was back on the road to NYC and all those busy shows.
