Freedom Hangs Like Heaven Over Everyone

Fun, inspired, and almost completely vintage look that I absolutely love to wear! The dress was handmade for my grandmother in Russia many, many years ago, and the Liz Claiborne hat was also inherited from her. I purchased the vest from a thrift shop literally about 10 years ago, and still find ways to wear it!
The spiked bracelet is from TopShop, the ring is from Francesca’s Collection, and the bangles are from various shops, including Target!

We Know That Our Hearts Are Just Made Out of Strings

IMG_7744IMG_7755
A second post from the whirlwind that has been my settling into life in the DMV! It’s been tedious…It’s been work. I’ve been unpacking, working, traveling, trying my best to explore and socialize, et cetera. What I’m craving most? A nice, relaxing evening involving a chill bean bag (remember those!?) and a movie with a bottle of wine, or a champagne cocktail. Alas, there’s much to be explored as I’m on the hunt for the perfect blog photographer, group of friends, brunch restaurant, lunch spot, dinner diggs, quality man; amongst maintaining my life at my new “home” with friends and new job. Confused/overwhelmed? So am I. These photos were shot by an area photographer, Kevin, who’s work can be found on his site here. He’s got a great eye and some great ideas, so I’m hoping you’ll be seeing more of his work up here!

Another Long Winter Trying to Fight this Freeze

Waiting on the cold’s got a hold on me
a hold on me
so hold onto me

Baby, it’s COLD outside! Here in the north east it’s been a steady ten degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of days now and all I have to say is praise the gods for Uniqlo’s HeatTech, I honestly don’t know how I survived before I discovered with almost 3 years ago…This heat generating line features Japanese technology in light weight basics which are perfect for looking effortlessly chic in these below freezing temps.

She Spits on Summer and Smiles Into The Night

I think I’m falling….for FALL! Normally I thrive solely for summer; shorts and tees and tanks. But this current change in weather has me looking towards the future. I’m so excited for what fall has in store (see my color & accessories post on FemInspire, as well as my Fall Wishlist). I was thrilled to find these perfectly hued ankle boots at H&M, and threw on this chambray DIY shirt. I’m also ecstatic to be wearing my leather jacket again (from H&M) which has been a favorite of mine since I first bought it.

On the non-sartorial aspect, I’m excited for crunching leaves beneath my feet and New England adventures that I can only hope to include apple picking, pumpkin picking, and a belligerently drunk trip to King Richard’s Faire. What are you excited about for fall (fashionably or life-oriented)!?
