Paris Nights and New York Mornings

Flirty and Feminine in pleated champagne skirt on Que Sera Sahra

It’s been oddly chilly lately; temps are almost sweater necessitating, even though it’s mid-july. I’m dreaming of Paris Nights and New York Mornings….and Fashion Weeks’ just around the corner. I’m craving summer feeling but also warmth, so a cropped knit with a perfect pleated skirt is the outfit option of choice. There’s something “Carrie Bradshaw” esque about this look; it’s cosmopolitan, and not like the drink, and the “cigarette burned” sweater adds the right amount of downtown edge to the flirty and feminine pleats. Topped off with kitschy sunglasses and I’m ready to brave the city for a day of meetings and errands. This is the first set in a “wear two ways” series, so be sure to check back to see what item I spin in an opposite style!

Fashion Friends, Fleas, and French Food

Sunday I met up with a few of my NYC Fashion Blogger friends to hit up the famed Williamsburg, Brooklyn Flea Market. It was however, my third week in a row there, so I just perused my favorite booths and added my two cents into the other girls’ purchases and potentials. We lounged around for a bit on the gorgeous waterfront which is coincidentally my second favorite view in all of New York City.

As fashion bloggers, we took a substantial amount of pictures of each other, so the images all link back to each blogger’s blog!

After walking around followed by relaxing, we headed to a late brunch down Bedford Ave at an amazing french restaurant. We all had some sort of delicious plate, and then were surprised by a dessert tasting! My favorite is the creme brulee, though the chocolate mousse was decadently rich like a thick fudge and the seasoned fruit cake melted in your mouth.

Mmmm….fancy, delicious, AMAZING creme brulee! Now for the fashion; What I Wore:

Forever 21 crop top

Vintage maxi skirt

DB sandals

Peter Grimm hat

Vintage cross body bag

Satya Jewelry

As previously stated, Thursday I was invited to the Satya Jewelry Blogger event with the New York Fashion Bloggers. I was greeted by the lovely and hospitable Christina and handed some champagne while I perused the collection.

Satya Jewelry is a great line of yoga inspired and spiritual jewlery as well as stones and other great pieces. The designers are adorable and hip, and their shop is located in a fabulous section of Tribeca on North Moore street. All of their pieces are of high quality; 100% silver, sterling silver, and gold, which makes them moderately priced, but perfect.

Rainbow dress

Qupid pumps

Guess bag

TopShop bracelet

H&M Necklace

I picked up a few pieces for myself as well as some gifts for the notable ladies around me. I’ll post images of those another time, but for now enjoy! and be sure to check out Satya’s site HERE. Or, if you live in NYC they have a few locations, one being right in Grand Central Station!

Alice + Olivia Presentation

I was lucky enough to score tickets to the Alice + Olivia Fashion Week Presentation…I brought my really good friend from school, Rachel. We got all dressed up and headed over to the West Side for the show (after completely MOWWING some Chipotle).

We get there and immediately walk into a red carpet event, much more than I was expecting. Guests were dressed to the T, drinks by Hypnotiq were served, and models handed out Altoids Smalls. Rachel and I hung around the entrance first to scope out the other guests who were all arriving and doing the whole press thing. Guests included Denise Richards,  Elisabeth Moss (from Mad Men), Nicky Hilton, Nina Garcia, and many more.

In between checking out the other attendees, we grabbed a few drinks; Hypnotiq with blueberries and vodka, champagne, and a number of other fruity beverages were served  for the guests.

After our star gazing we went to the back of the venue, where the collection was on a still life display of live models. The dresses were stunning; lacey Grecian styles, victorian and vintage inspired…the colors were creams and whites, perfect for spring. The more casual designs were fun. I’m in love with the burnt orange floral dress that looks like it belongs on a 50’s housewife. Other retro throwback styles included huge belled bottoms, long pleated skirts, and midriff baring tops. Accessory wise, I loved the use of the colored over sized glasses on a couple of the models.

The entire thing was quite an experience, including the live entertainment.  The Pierces, Amanda Blank, and DJ Mia Moretti all performed…

Now for some self aggrandizing…
