Not my usual style, but more of a style I wish I could wear more often. Why doesn’t my life call for comfy capri pants and embellished peplum tops more often!? What’s a girl got to do to have more occasions to wear fancy clothes? That’s right; make her own. Throw on some party music and glam it up for…for the cats, I suppose! Why not?
I’m currently coveting an office job where jeans become a Friday only affair; am I just lusting to grow up too soon?

Now, just add in these PERFECT tropical print jeans and the white oxfords and I’ve got quite a cozy and chic look for summer, dontcha think!? Also, why have I never had Joe’s Jeans before!? THEY ARE SO COMFY!

Out of Place, Out of Mind

Today I was excited to do a “fashion” thing in Massachusetts! I was set to go to a fashion show of area designers presenting their version of a “little black dress”. This was to be held in Berlin, MA, which for you out-of-staters who may not know, is a small rural town quite far from the hub bub of the Boston capital. It was exactly what you’d expect; and drastically different from what my still-New-York mind expected.

Middle aged women gathered in their best chunky two inch heels from the 90’s in the old “Town Hall” in various versions of LBD’s (down to their knees). Their hair; either too short to style or in the sleekest of French Twists.

Enter: Sahra. In a mesh, see through leotard with a tucked in maxi skirt and 4″ platform pumps. God, I did not belong.

Okay, Okay. There was a good part. The woman who’s dress I went to see was actually spectacular. It was on-trend with a sheer top, low cut sheer back, and fringed trim. Something I would definitely wear and could actually see people in the real world of cities wearing out to a party (to Le Bain maybe?). Sonia, and her line Passion, are exceptional. And the goodie bags were adorable and smelt so great! Sonia and Passion are exceptionally professional and I can’t wait to see her expand and hopefully come to NYC!

Anyway, I’m clearly out of place here. I hung out with my future NYC roommate last night and all we did was reminisce about The City and plan our future apartment. August can’t come soon enough for the both of us.

Rainbow Fish Monday

This cardigan is quickly becoming my favorite, I don’t care how many people seem to hate on it. Blue/Teal/Green big sequins? Yes Please.

I wore this outfit to the doctors, classy, I know. Where I found out JUST how sick I’ve actually been. With the prognosis, my mom felt bad and took me out for a nice lunch of Spike’s Junkyard Dogs followed by some mall adventures.

After the mall we continued with the retail therapy at my favorite thrift store, Saver’s! I found a gorgeous semi sheer rose dress for $3.99 and this lilac faux ostrich jacket for, wait for it… $2.99!!! talk about aSTEAL! When I stopped at Target for my antibiotics, I picked up Esse’s “She’s Picture Perfect” to match.

The best part has to be that the cashier thought I looked so good in the dress, he stamped our coupon card an extra bunch of times…We only spent $10, you get a stamp for every $5….. you do the math!

I’m off to enjoy some antibiotics and penne alfredo and kick this cold before my trip next week! Sorry there’s no recipe this week, no one will eat anything I cook due to my sickness

Life is Too Short to Care What Others Think

Getting in on my spring time brights and breaking out some sneakers. These are one of my favorite pair of kicks, but living in NYC I rarely find wear for them, so I’m sure they’re happy I’m in MA for a few weeks. Sure, shoes can have feelings too, right?

Animal Details

Quick little outfit post. My camera battery has been on the fritz so it’s been difficult getting full outfit shoots in, hence half this post being iPhone taken.
It’s a simple outfit I wore out shopping; Old Navy boots, H&M pants, tiered top, my big comfy Alice Yim NY cocoon cardigan, and some fancy accessories.
I’d been dying to use this embellished zebra bracelet from Charming Charlie’s for literally months but was having a difficult time styling it with what I was wearing. I then received this Chameleon ring during NYFW and knew they could be a perfect match. Threw on some simple bangles, and BAM. Done.
