Hopeless Girls Still Walk

S2_Done-17 On hot and humid days like we’ve been experiencing, it’s been my motto that less clothes is better. I’m talking free-boobing ladies! Seriously, on hot days there’s nothing better than throwing on a backless dress and some sandals and enjoying a bit of breeze where you normally wouldn’t get one (no, not THERE you sick-os!) I first fell in love with this dress at PacSun just under a year ago, and eventually found it on super sale at their outlet (after pondering it for a solid couple weeks). Ofcourse it’s a mix between two of my favorite colors, black and chartreuse, and the backless details allows for that nice breeze and a fun way to show off a little ink. Devon Thomas

After the Stevie Boi show it was back in line to be checked in for the Devon Thomas show, which started almost immediately after my arrival. The collection was quite a contrast from the Stevie Boi show, with more classically influenced pieces with modern trends. Some pieces were fluid and drapey, which was gorgeous along the runway. Other pieces were more structured with strategic cut outs, which obviously I’m a fan of.

All in all, I’m digging this fairly new yet versatile line of clothing. Also, DYING for the ensemble with the green top and flowing skirt, as well as the cut  out blazer!

DIY Inspirations

I’ve always been a crafty creative person. I used to make plenty of clothes and accessories in high school and shortly after, for example this dress:

Sadly, with my demanding schedule and social life I rarely find time to sit and have some one-on-one with my sewing machine. The most recent thing I’ve managed to whip up is this slouchy clutch.

However, I do have an entire folder on my laptop of ideas and plans brewing for things to be made! I figured I’d share my inspirations with you (after being inspired by this post by Fashion Infusion).

I’ve already started on a fringe-sleeve top and have recently made some purchases from the trimmings stores on 38th street. My sewing machine is finally getting some much deserved love and I can’t wait to go to my parents’ home for a few days where I have a HUGE stash of scrap fabric!

Stay tuned for some great DIY’s, my loyal readers ! ❤
