Our Calming Blue Bedroom

It’s been a year and a half but I think it’s safe to say…we have finished our bedroom. When you move into a new house it feels like the work is never done; you’re always wanting to update new things, pick out final touches, et cetera. It took us a while with our bedroom. We had Ikea bedding and curtains and knew we wanted to upgrade, as well as adding tasteful yet minimal decor. We also updated the things you can’t see but make our bed our oasis. We upgraded to a new memory foam mattress topper with temperature techonology (to keep me warm and Z cool), as well as a new fluffy duvet, since we both had  had ours since our college days.

I think we’ve finally achieved a happy balance in our bedroom-for now! I still dream of updating the side tables but have a very specific design in mind, so those will take patience. But other than that, I LOVE our bedroom; I love our cloud bed and it’s truly the place of rest and relaxation in our home.

Won’t you settle Down Baby Here Your Love Has Been

Ever since I heard the howlin’ wind
I didn’t need to go where a bible went
But then you know your gifts seemed heaven sent

Ah, this weather. It’s the reason I keep moving south. The lack of humidity in the air, the cool nights that turn into warm days amidst a yellow sunshine; the audible crunch beneath your steps. Fall in DC is a beautiful time (mostly), with balmy days and crisp evenings. I LOVE IT. Today was a beautiful 71 degrees and I’m so not mad to be back to wearing dresses sans tights, and am pretty stoked to get a bit more wear out of this off-the-shoulder dress.

I Think I Like You But It’s Complicated

I want it all to remind me of the first time
Willing to fall into forever if I think it feels right

date night for the edgy gal

Leather, spikes, studs. Edgy style personifies me so when new DC boutique Rosies and Rockers approached me to work with them I knew we’d be a perfect match. Reminiscent of my adolescent days of growing up trying to shop in Hot Topic (and my mother forcing me to return my purchases the following day), but with a glamorous feel of sexy body hugging and diamond accents, I chose pieces that reflected my versatile style. Perfect for a hot date night out, all this dress needs is the right accessories and some vampy lipstick.
