Vintage denim jackets with fun patches are all the rage now. I’ve shopped hard, accumulating my patches along my travels for the past year. I have my avocado patch that I picked up at the Quirk Gallery in Richmond, VA, my Huckberry patches for Zion National Park and Grand Canyon National Park, my cactus patches inspired by our trip to Texas…Pins from an Australian AirBnb guest, one from our trip down Arizona’s Route 66. These patches aren’t just a stylish statement they’re a collection, they’re a story, they’re my history. And I love to share them with anyone who glances my way.

People Dress Up Celebrating Something

Memorial Day has come and gone, the start of Summer has arrived with barbecues and bonfires. I spent mine at work (oh, #retaillife) but thankfully barbecued post-work with Z’s family. Fresh grilled veggies are about to be my JAM. Along with changing up the diet to more fresh produce, I’ve made the switch from red to white wine, whiskey to fresh gin. My parents brought some lemonade shandy (Narragansett’s Dell’s Shandy, for any New Englanders) and it is SO GOOD. Perfectly light for afternoon sipping, and it tastes like my childhood summers, but all grown up.

A little update as to what I’ve been up to: I’ve joined SnapChat (find me: QueSeraSahra), had a battle with le boyf over how much I should be snapping. Had a friend in town, Cinco De Mayo party, and started a new volunteer experience…Busy Busy and I ain’t even mad. And can we talk about this vegan brunch I ate before snapping this outfit shot? I can still taste those wings and man am I salivating at the thought of them!

I Was A Hot Mess In My Sunday Best

This song lately is my jam! So good! And so is my denim jacket (good, and my jam). I’ve got to say, this influx of spring is making me so happy; the sun is shining and if you follow me on social media you see that the happy hours are happening, the yard is being tended to, brunch is being enjoyed outside, and the animals are enjoying the sun as well. Vitamin D for everyone!

Here’s another look from my trip to South Africa (I promise newer looks coming soon!). I wore this lacy tank and cotton denim to dinner at Kloof Street House, which was my top meal of the entire trip. I enjoyed some vegan “meat”loaf and local wine and cocktails by candlelight, with the love of my life. While Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate the nights were chilly and warranted a light jacket. The perfect casual yet put together accoutrement to my look.
