Jonas + Jackets

Band of Outsiders winter Jacket from TheRealReal
Winter storm Jonas has officially arrived to the East Coast! Though I’ve narrowly escaped it by vacationing in Texas (follow along on Instagram and Snapchat: username QueSeraSahra on both!) that doesn’t mean I can’t commiserate. Growing up in New England I saw my fair share of record-breaking blizzards and have learned that the key to staying warm is a good coat; and even better when it can be a stylish one. Z got me this jacket for my birthday from TheRealReal, an online consignment shop full of designer goodies that have been authenticated and thoroughly checked to ensure its condition.

Another Long Winter Trying to Fight this Freeze

Waiting on the cold’s got a hold on me

Baby, it’s COLD outside! Here in the north east it’s been a steady ten degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of days now and all I have to say is praise the gods for Uniqlo’s HeatTech, I honestly don’t know how I survived before I discovered with almost 3 years ago…This heat generating line features Japanese technology in light weight basics which are perfect for looking effortlessly chic in these below freezing temps.

The Glamour Girl and Her Whiskey

_DSC7982

During a recent shoot with photographer Greg Easton I was myself in all aspects, and had such a blast! Glitzy, glam, fashion-y, booze, and over exposed images that made me feel like a Terry Richardson starlet. Also, if you dig my style and versatility, check out my Tumblr, GlamourGirlsandWhiskey !

BEG Movie Premiere

As previously stated, my first actual role (non extra) in a movie premiered last night in Providence, RI. Due to the WEIRDEST OCTOBER WEATHER EVER (note: blizzard. parts of the state received a foot of snow), I was all bundled up and not in any sort of fancy pants dress or anything.

I started the festivities with some drinks with my family at the Renaissance Hotel Bar, staying warm and cozy on their big padded sofa’s with delicious cocktails.

Then, we headed to the theater to snap a few pics before the movie began.

After the movie there was a Q&A with the fabulous director, Kevin MacDonald. They kept it short and sweet though, so we could all head home safely as the roads have been terrible. But still, a GREAT time and it was so nice to see the project come to life on the big screen!

Ch-Ch-Changes

It’s summer and if you haven’t noticed by now I get bored quite easily with my appearance. In the past two days I’ve made one MAJOR change and a few minute impermanent ones.

First, my hair. Remember last summer’s undercut of my half shaved head? I wanted to go back to that for the nice edge it added to my look and the cool summer breeze. There was a miscommunication with my hairdresser so within second I ended up like this:

After a few tears I rationalized with “it will grow back, just a few weeks and it will be fine”. So we evened it out. And Ya know? It’s even starting to grow on me how short it is.

Bf ❤

I also decided to paint my nails something fun and bold and bright last night. I chose to go with ombre purple to pink…

** Please excuse all the cell phone and webcam shots, you’ll see prettier ones later**

Other changes in the works, besides new collaborations, I may be considering changing my blogging platform. I love the set up of wordpress and the ease of posting, but from a professional and monetary standpoint it’s not functional. If you’re a blogger do you have any other advice? Please let me know.

R&Em Spring 2011

One recent stormy NYC evening I attended the Rebecca Minkoff R&Em Spring 2011 handbag party held in Chelsea. The event was an experience, bringing together some of the top bloggers of the NYC area. The party was in honor of the release of their spring lookbook featuring miss Keiko Lynn, who I personally follow on BlogLovin and am hugely in love with.

I walked in to my jacket being taken, hugs and kisses from friends, and champagne being handed to me. Fruit and pastries were also available as guests mingled, oggling the new collection.

It was so great to see Yanil and Janique, who I’ve both seen rather recently. It was also great to meet even more amazing bloggers, including Nicole of Black Shoes Diary and Clotaire of Spenderella who’s an international blogger!

As you can see, we’re all clutching our brand new gifts, courtesy of Rebecca Minkoff. Yanil and I both opted for the same black satchel, while Clotaie and Nicole for straw bags and clutches. The event also boasted bouquets of flowers for us to build ourselves. We could pick from unbloomed tuplis, roses, babies breath, and other spring flowers to brighten the stormy air.

The rest of the collection was stunning, a perfect mix of punk meets classics with studding, prints, furs, and pinks.

Totally dying for these faux fur bags….

All of these great bags are sold exclusively at Macy’s and Macy’s.com, and are fairly well priced.

It was an amazing experience and I had so much fun!
