Another duo-styled post for you guys! Z is getting better about being in front of the camera, which is great; y’all have always been telling me you want to see more guy style! This post was inspired by a listening spree of The 1975 and being drawn to the lyrics of their song chocolate. I made Z go all matchy matchy with me, all black and a little bohemian with gold accessories and leathered belts. This would be cool festival style, if we weren’t in all black and too cool (read: frugal) to go to music festivals.

Honey and I

_MG_6535Another fun double-style post! The beau and I, as style savvy folks, love getting dolled up and going out on dates. We wore these out to dinner at an amazing DC Meditteranian restaurant called Zaytinya. They had a hearty amount of veg-friendly dishes, served tapas style which meant sharing, and I had my first taste of Ouzo!_MG_6549_post  _MG_6558_post _MG_6566 _MG_6582 _MG_6585_c_postvelvet GAP dress thrifted via Savers/Value Village

I Learned Everything I Know From Watching Movies

Why can’t my life have a Hollywood ending?

A fun fall-ish look that I’ve worn a version of a couple of times so far since the leaves have started changing! I love being in the mid-Atlantic and how it’s late October and, save for a week of chills, the weather is still temperate enough for me to tolerate sans multiple layers. Unfortunately, these photos were taken WEEKS ago, but the photographer has gone MIA with the final edits, so excuse the watermarks. Anyone know any photographers in the DC area that are consistent with a quick turnaround!? send them my way!

3.1 Phillip Lim

Phillip Lim generally has some great designs; he uses fun prints and comfortable fabrics. This spring/summer is no exception. Phillip Lim’s new summer line, though lacking in color and print, is definitely one for quality basics.

The entire line consists of maybe four colors; tan, white, navy, and powder blue.  The fabrics look soft and breatheable at best.

And well, there’s not much else to say. With prices that start at around $350 for a generic skirt, you’re really just paying for the name. For almost the exact same thing, you can go to the GAP and find it for 10% the price (as opposed to Phillip Lim’s navy trench coat for $750, you can find the same GAP coat for $75).
