Garden City Plaza

I was feeling cabin feverish the other day so I decided to get outside. The Garden City shopping center in Cranston, RI was the perfect location! I could walk shop to shop between sunlight and air conditioning with my delicious Berry Hibiscus Refresher from Starbucks; damn those things are good.

Also, I get alot of questions about my tattoos and figured I’ll do a post about them. If anyone has any specific questions about them, comment with them and I’ll have them answered later this week!

NYFW Day 1, Part 3: Astonish Magazine Launch

After being at the Arrojo 10th Anniversary party for about an hour or so, it was “on to the next one” as they say. I headed to the Gansevoort Park Ave for the Astonish Magazine Launch party. There was a fashion show featuring structural designs by designer Phuong My. Nicole of BlackShoesDiary and I went backstage to mingle with the models and snap some pictures.

With J Rudy Lewis (Jewelry designer!) and fellow NYC Fashion Bloggers Shnieka and LaDorian.

The magazine is amazing. It’s a more high end/couture style, reminiscent of my favored Zink magazine, but with brighter editorials (As opposed to Zink’s always dark, gloomy, and mysterious). My favorite editorial spread was the one entitled “Love, Lust, and that Bastard Called Desire”. something about the smoke, gas masks, and underlying themes of saddist sexism just entrance me.

The whole magazine is tres avant garde and impeccably procured. I definitely advice any fashion mavens who would like some stimulation unlike the normal Conde Nast and Hearst cookie cutter to pick this up!

The Met

Totalllllly late. But a few weeks ago I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art with a few friends to see the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty Exhibit and peruse the museum. Strangely enough, having lived in NYC about four years now this was my first museum…EVER.
