Come Clean Summer Breezes

You leave it up to me
Just the thought of you leavin’
Had me on my knees
Suede Boots and the Sleeveless Trench
Welp, it’s happened guys. The temperatures have dipped to freezing and winter is here to stay, it seems. While we’ve steal escaped snow thus far, I’m sure it’s on its way.
That being said, here’s my last bare-skin-bearing look for the next few months.
I wore this look during my Birthday Weekend in New Orleans; the look was cozy and comfortable enough for eating, drinking, and walking my way through the French Quarter.

Boy Meets Girl Presentation

So, I digress, I was out of NYC from Friday-Sunday. Yes, during NYFW.  Why? My cousin got married in the mountains of Pennsylvania where I didn’t even have cell phone coverage to check up on the live tweets from all my friends at Lincoln Center.

But, as soon as I landed back in NYC it was GO GO GO. I had an hour to get ready for drinks and dinner, starting at the Bowery Hotel (where I spotted a handsome man…only to notice he’s taken by an adorably casually dressed Emma Roberts) and then dinner at my favorite Giovanni’s Venti Cinque. Dinner was cut short, though, as I rushed down to Avenue for the Boy Meets Girl by Stacey Igel presentation.

I’ve been going to the Boy Meets Girl shows for three seasons now, and have always had a blast. After making it past the outside crowds and proving I was on the list, I walk into a crowded, star studded event. Angela Simmons, Omarion, The Veronicas, NBA players I don’t know the name of…Obviously, as I previously stated I’m not easily swayed by “stardom” so I go about my life as is, seeing what’s left of the collection (I arrived unfashionably late) and mingling. If anyone is familiar with the brand, which you should be, it’s mostly known for the adorable vintage silhouette love-inspired tee shirts and hoodies, so I’ve always viewed these presentations as a fun, relaxing get away from the normal seriousness of NYFW. The event was sponsored by Monster Energy drinks (which I downed a zero calorie 12oz, as was needed), Stoli Vodka having drinks and raspberry-chocolate macaroons (my stomach still doing flips thinking about them) and Neuro Beverages, which I’ve recently become a major fan of.

I managed to run into Monroe, and we took a random photo of our shoes, just as the party was dwindling and the club began to shut down. Monroe wore her Jeffrey Campbells, my stillettos were from Wild Pair by Bakers. Obviously, I have the feet of a bound Asian.

Stay tuned for Stevie Boi shades, Devon Thomas, and more NYFW coverage!

JC+LF+Sushi

Last night I attended the launch of Jeffrey Campbell’s new bag line at a Fourth of July party at LF stores in SoHo.  I walked into free lemonade from girls wearing various pieces of American Flag apparel (totally IN right now, right?) and cupcakes, cake, and everything themed. I immediately found my fellow blogger friends amongst the plethora of associates mixed with the “too cool for school” teenage crowd.

After saying hello and getting accustomed to the situation I took a look around the store. to be honest, I was scared for my life. LF Stores is the epitome of force fed fashion, catering to the personality and personal taste-less followers of the Nylon bible. You’ve got your crop tops, American flag shorts, fringed “vintage” tees, and all-you-can-wear high waisted “vintage” Levi shorts. Oh, and did I mention the Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s?

Amongst the rubble of fashion vomit I managed to find the Sam Edelman heels I’ve been lusting after, as well as this gorgeous kimono.

Okay, so I don’t completely hate the shop. I think, piece by piece, they are some amazing finds. But for the most part, I’d rather not be force fed my daily dose of Nylon Magazine’s poolings all at once.

Anyway, so after waiting through two bag giveaways (one of which was won by my dear friend Monroe!), 6 of us decided to go for sushi at Noodle Zen on St. Mark’s.

Since I’d already had sushi for lunch, I opted for a vegetable tempura udon, which was quite good, especially alongside my orange chu-hi beverage.

Now for what I wore:

Misfits tee from Hot Topic (DIY/cutout myself)

Forever 21 shorts

Aldo Wedges

Gifted R&Em bag (can be found here)

Peter Grimm hat

TopShop bracelets

And now I leave you with this photobooth strip of Nicole and I making funny faces! ❤

Work and Play

Saturday was a day of both work and play. As some of you may know, I’m a coordinator for the New York Fashion Blogger Meet Up Group. The other coordinators and I, as well as top IFB bloggers and other members of our group attended the Blogger Closet Raid held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. I had just spent my Friday shopping, but once I found Nitrolicious, all plans to “not spend” went down the drain. Having and amazing shoe collection, ALL in my size, ranging from Jessica Simpson to Jeffrey Campbells to Louboutin’s it was like her set up was curated specifically for me. Though I wish I could have indulged in the crystal encrusted Louboutin’s and Xanadu fur JC’s, I knew I needed to think realistically…and then I found the Jessica Simpson moto boots. I’ve been scouring the internet and shops for the perfect studded moto boots to add to my collection, and when I stumbled upon these for their low price there was no WAY I could say no. The following few images were taken by Monroe of Fashion Steele NYC.

After the raid-fest and saying hello to good friends, it was time to get down to work. Monroe, Yanil and I decided to dine and chat at the Tribeca Grand’s lounge, which was full of attractive attentive staff and delicious drinks, as well as coffee and food according to my counterparts.

I hope they don’t mind that I made myself at home on their chairs!

As you can see I’m completely smitten with my new purchase. I’m also ecstatic that my ombre manicure if still going strong, since nail colors usually don’t last long on me due to chipping and such.
