We’ve Come Too Far To Give Up Who We Are

So let’s raise the bar and our cups to the stars
We’re up all night ’til the sun
We’re up all night to get some
We’re up all night for good fun
We’re up all night to get luckyIMG_9422I think I’ve found my summer jam; Daft Punk’s vibe to this song is SO FUN and Pharell’s voice is so smooth, and even though I’m no longer in my teenage years of frivolousness, I’m still up for staying out all night for sun and fun! Now, just add in these PERFECT tropical print jeans and the white oxfords and I’ve got quite a cozy and chic look for summer, dontcha think!? Also, why have I never had Joe’s Jeans before!? THEY ARE SO COMFY!IMG_9426IMG_9429IMG_9433IMG_9434IMG_9436

Rafaello and Co. Jewelry

Friday evening I brought some of my fellow NYC Fashion Bloggers to the lovely showroom of Rafaello and Co Jewelry.  In this international jewelers they do custom pieces such as necklaces, watches, et cetera for high end clientele including many famous rappers.

LOVE the cat ring (you know, for $30,000 or so) and that fuschia watch? $60,000. Oh, I cannot wait until the days when I can afford something nice for myself!

For this event I came in a Diane Von Furstenberg dress, Wild Pair heels, Forever 21 belt, and an H&M jacket. Fancy, yet fun, and it flowed perfectly into my Friday night festivities.

Mixed Metals & A Giveaway!

I recently met up with Hallie, from Hallie Friedman, an amazingly talented jewelry designer based here in New York, to go over her collection.  I was immediately drawn to the bright colors of her embellished friendship bracelets, full of one of a kind finds that makes each bangle a unique piece to own.  Her earrings are fun, dangly pieces that are eye catching in long hair and her rings are baubles of awesomeness in an array of jewel tons and fun colors.

I was given a gorgeous set of these mixed metal earrings and matching ring to style in a post, so I took the challenge and went with the trend full force.

For the outfit, I kept it simple with an American Apparel dress with my Peter Grimm hat and MIA Girl embellished wedges. The ring and earrings were Hallie Friedman, The cuff and necklace are Forever 21 (omg how much do you LOVE this time-turner-esque necklace? My inner Potter head geeked out and made the impulse purchase). The bracelets are form Express, Target, and TopShop.

Now, for the fun part:  GIVEAWAY !

Girl Crush: Leopard Z.

No, I do not speak or read any form of Chinese or any other Asian Dialect. I do however, have a lust for my newfound style crush, Leopard Z. With her coy and soft features she is stunning. Slap on some leather and studs and I’ve got myself a lady boner. She makes overalls look good, and Ozzy Osborne sunglasses. And, I just needed to share.

Seriously SO in love with her style, and I’m proud to now be following her for updated inspirations. If you like her too, check out her image laden posts on her blog here, and if you know Chinese, give it a read and maybe tell me where she gets her clothes??!

Tumblr/iPhone Outfit Purgings

As previously stated, my full time job and lack of personal photographer have hindered me from consistent posting. I’ve gone through my Tumblr now and saved some notable looks I’ve posted within the last month.

Obviously, though I don’t take daily better photos, I still manage to hold a fashionable look no matter what. I felt the need to validate that. Please feel free to check out more on my Tumblr here, or follow me on Twitter here!

Satya Jewelry

As previously stated, Thursday I was invited to the Satya Jewelry Blogger event with the New York Fashion Bloggers. I was greeted by the lovely and hospitable Christina and handed some champagne while I perused the collection.

Satya Jewelry is a great line of yoga inspired and spiritual jewlery as well as stones and other great pieces. The designers are adorable and hip, and their shop is located in a fabulous section of Tribeca on North Moore street. All of their pieces are of high quality; 100% silver, sterling silver, and gold, which makes them moderately priced, but perfect.

Rainbow dress

Qupid pumps

Guess bag

TopShop bracelet

H&M Necklace

I picked up a few pieces for myself as well as some gifts for the notable ladies around me. I’ll post images of those another time, but for now enjoy! and be sure to check out Satya’s site HERE. Or, if you live in NYC they have a few locations, one being right in Grand Central Station!

Work. Preview Party. Drinks. Dinner. Stripclub.

Wednesday I found out just what Thursday had in store for me…so Wednesday night was spent contemplating a versatile outfit that can go from work to the Satya Jewelry blogger preview, to drinks, to dinner, and then to the strip club. It was difficult to say the least, but I settled on this white dress from Rainbow with my gifted Qupid heels and some black accessories.

I’ll do a full post on Satya later, but for now, on to dinner and after. We had dinner at this lovely fusion restaurant called Ma Peche. I’m generally not a fan of Vietnamese food, but my tofu spring roll was quite good, as were my veggie rice noodles.

After plenty of wine there, we went on to a Rose at a local strip club for some kicked back fun. Needless to say, we had a bit too much fun and the night went crazy.

Safari Shirt

I bought this shirt from a local thrift store in Providence quite some time ago. I’ve been waiting for some moment to wear it; not sure if I was nervous about the bold pattern, the baggy fit, or what else, but I finally put it on for my lengthy day.

Thrifted shirt

Blue Asphalt jeans

Necklace gifted from Stein and Blye

Bracelets from Target

GC shoes

I’m sure you’ll start seeing more of this shirt this summer as I indulge into the tribal look.

Grandmother’s Jewelry

If you’ve been following for awhile you may remember that my paternal grandmother passed away this past July. While in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving it was time to go through more of her belongings and determine who would inherit what.

The jewelry was beautiful; classic cameo pieces to pearls, to pounds of costume jewelry and an impressive collection of clip on and (the even older) screw on earrings. Not many of you may know but I have gauged ears (size 2) and it makes it impossible to wear normal stud earrings in my first hole and gives absolutely no purpose to clip on and screw on earrings for me. None the less, I took a few inspiring pairs that I’d like to find something creative to do with.

I kept the Cameo and the Elephants for myself; she had quite the pin collection as well, which you can see, and a number of butterflies, which is my Aunt’s favorite.
