Ugly Sweater Season

Welcome to December; the month of holiday parties, ugly sweater clad whether it’s the theme or not. I was asked to model for a poster for an upcoming Ugly Sweater party by the talented Greg Easton, and jumped at the fun opportunity! I borrowed the sweater vest from my mom, and I love her, but she has quite the collection of hideous holiday themed knits. At least they’re fun and keep us jolly and laughing!

When It’s Too Cold To Leave The House

DAMN it’s cold out. 16 degrees? No thanks, not unless I absolutely NEED to venture outside.

So what did I do inside all day? I learned how to do a french twist and attempted to recreate Lady GaGa’s hair from the dance rehearsal portion of her “Marry The Night” music video. Threw on a little white eye shadow, cat eye liner, and vampy red lips and had myself a mini photoshoot of sorts in my bathroom!

I know it’s not the best, but I’m thinking I could practice till it’s perfect!

Thoughts?

Day Job: GaGa’s Workshop

And the worst blogger award goes to… Sahra of EffortllessCool!

But really guys, I’m sorry. Between the bullshit that is my life, my full time seasonal gig, and preparing to move, and not having anyone to help me take photos, I’ve been totally slacking on blogging. Sorry guys!

I’ve been working SO much, almost 40 hours a week in retail, sticking to the wardrobe requirements daily.
I’ve been trying on some of the products and playing around with make up too! And taking pictures, so here are some iPhone photos for your enjoyment!

And, on one lovely Saturday at work, I was asked to meet with Francisco Nars, of Nars make up, to do some signings for customers. My friend and co worker Michelle and I couldn’t resist a photo op with Francisco and Simon Doonan.

Now the shop/boutique itself is truly magnificent, though I can’t go into detail so you’ll have to come in and see for yourself!

Bows!

I’ve always been a go-getter for knowledge when it comes to being inspired by great things. When Lady GaGa’s pokerface video came out I immediately learned the (surprisingly easy) steps to creating the Hair Bow. I’ve worn my hair like this a few times, and have done it to many of my friends’ hair for nights out.

This night I wore it to the Bob Mackie Famed Art Collection Blogger get together. For those of you who don’t know, Bob Mackie is up there with Karl Lagerfeld as a TRUE fashion illustrator. Currently being released are his prints of vegas showgirls, weird clowns, colorful kittens, and ofcourse, plenty of fashion. The event was great, and I’ve always been a fan of Bob Mackie so it was exciting to pick out a piece to have shipped to my home! I chose the below piece in the blue shade but also seriously debated the cats. My kitten is staying with my parents for a month, and I miss him terribly. I am quite happy with my choice though!

The event had bowls of candy, Izze sodas and Perrier, and pop chips. Sadly, due to the weather and such I’ve been rather under the weather all week and barely enjoyed some water, but that didn’t take away from how great a time it was hanging out with other bloggers and meeting great new people!

Now, What I Wore:

This top is actually a dress, from the little girls’ store Limited Too from when I worked there for almost two years. The jeans, well. These jeans are by Vigoss….from well. Let’s not put a date on it, but I’ve had them since I was in 7th grade. So happy to still fit them, and so great that I kept them, what with the wide leg coming back in style!

And ofcourse, my favoured Aldo wedges and vintage bag.

Hope you enjoy, and don’t forget to follow me on BlogLovin or leave a note with a comment ❤

Ellie Shoes from Patricia Field’s

Sky High Thigh High

Lady GaGa at the AMA's in 2009

I initially saw and tried on these Ellie shoes over a year ago while perusing Patricia Field’s Bowery shop. They were $88 of epic teetering perfection. My friend I was with at the time coerced me out of the impulse buy but they had never left my mind. I later found them to be the ones Lady GaGa had worn to the 2009 American Music Awards, which made them even more appealing.

Last week, while doing my normal “sale shopping” I noticed the pumps on sale for half off. WHAT. A. STEAL. It was a done deal. I waited for a few days and finally got them in the mail and was giddy the rest of the night. I wore them around the house to get used to them and have come to the conclusion that these are definitely NOT drinking shoes. Still, I love them and plan on wearing them a bit.

Now, please pardon my appearance and boring outfit. Please focus on the gorgeous beauts of the shoes.

Now, these shoes are epic. There’s a platform, so they’re more comfortable than they look. They’re also on sale for dirt cheap…There’s only a few sizes left so get on over to PatriciaField.com and scoop them up!

Halloween!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays…in fact, it may very well be my number one favorite! I personally love dressing up as cartoon characters and super heroes.

I prefer creative costumes that involve me piecing things together to find the perfect mix. Here’s a look at my past costumes:

Halloween 2009: Harley Quinn

Halloween 2008: Jessica Rabbit & a Mad Hatter (a very drunk one)

In 2007 I was an array of characters including a school girl, Edie Sedgwick, and Alice in Wonderland. In 2006 I was two versions of Marilyn Munroe. Sadly, I have no images of these years that I can currently find.

I do, however, have images of other times I have dressed up for photoshoots or just for fun!

My friend and I as Lady GaGa this past September…

As a Lucha Dora wrestler with JeselynOnline in July…

As Lil’ Red Riding Hood, on the set of BEG (2009)

This year? I’m planning to utilize my hair color and body and go for a pin up Wilma Flintstone. Be sure to be on the look out for when the pictures surface! What are all of you going to be!? I seriously would love to know, so comment with your costume and maybe even a picture?!

The Gray Way

I meant to post this like, 2 weeks ago before my trip to Maryland, but it never posted. Enough pointless chatter; Gray hair has been showing up everywhere from the runway to the middle schools.

images from Backstage at Chanel

First seen on the runway of Chanel as streaks in the model’s hair, there were many differentiating views on the trend. When the following year showed full on gray heads, more people became more accepting and adoring of it. The first “real” person to attempt this trend was 13 year old fashion blogger Tavi. Personally, I don’t like the girl’s sense of fashion due to her love for all things grand-parental, and this hairstyle was no exception.  After Chanel and Tavi, other fashion icons and celebrities tried the style out for themselves; including Kate Moss, Kelly Osborne, and our Queen, Lady Gaga.

Now, personally, I think the granny trend is silly; We’re all young and should embrace our fine features. What are you’re thoughts though? Feel free to comment and share!
