This beautiful, gorgeous handbag is the product of internet friendships turned IRL. Linell Ellis, local handbag designer, and I started talking on twitter before I realized she was local and we decided to meet for real. After showing me her latest handbag collection I was in love; everything is made from fine quality leather and metal, the “leopard” is dyed calf hair, and her logo is hand stamped with gold foil. Even just touching one of her masterpieces you can tell the care and thought that went into the design and product. Being able to take home one of these babies was a dream, even just for the weekend! As I eluded on InstaGram, picking which one was the hardest, especially with so many stunning clutches and practical cross body bags.

Another Long Winter Trying to Fight this Freeze

Waiting on the cold’s got a hold on me
a hold on me
so hold onto me

Baby, it’s COLD outside! Here in the north east it’s been a steady ten degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of days now and all I have to say is praise the gods for Uniqlo’s HeatTech, I honestly don’t know how I survived before I discovered with almost 3 years ago…This heat generating line features Japanese technology in light weight basics which are perfect for looking effortlessly chic in these below freezing temps.

Old photos from the warmer months of a trip to Newport, RI where I toured the Breakers Vanderbilt mansion. It was a gorgeous place with spectacular views and just so spacious and dreamy!

A Leopard Never Loses Her Spots

You can take the girl from the city, but you can’t take the city from the girl; but you can make everyone stare when she’s the only one wearing heals so she feels self conscious and over dressed and starts wearing flats all the time. #welcometomysuburbanlife

Sorry my outfit posts have been rather lackluster the past few months; I’m hoping they’ll change as I’m on a new regimen of reading more fashion news and staying current and up to date and caring less about what these suburbanites think of my “Scandalous” ensembles. This outfit though, will get a spicing up soon enough, but figured I’d share my new dress with you all anyway! I got it at TJ Maxx, working on my Maxxinista cred. It’s tight, jacquard knit, warm, and such a fun print; the perfect dress for a wintery date night.

Outlet Shopping

Spent the day yesterday at the Wrentham Village Premium Outlets with my family, wandering around the fabulous stores oggling the cheap prices. Once upon a time I, as a teenager, worked in these outlets, but things have changed a bit since then, and so have my tastes and I; which I’m fully thankful for. I now pay attention to different stores than I did back then. For example, there’s a Saks outlet, Barney’s outlet, BCBG, Banana Republic, Guess, and newly added Bloomingdale’s! Compared to back then when all I cared for was Nine West, PacSun, Zumiez, and HotTopic. I was ecstatic when poking around I found an Alexander Wang sweater on sale for $129 in the Barney’s outlet. Ofcourse, that’s still above my budget, but it’s plausible with some thought out saving.
Anyway, the point of the day was to get out of the house, enjoy the sunshine and some fashion, and I definitely did!

We Are Machines; Obsolete, Alone

Welcome, to the second look from my photoshoot marathon with Darkside Images. Enjoy this post of dreary weather while I’m in Costa Rica (it’s beautiful so far).

I put together this look and went to a southern Massachusetts location I’d been pondering since my parent’s first moved to the town. Even though I had to jump over broken holes and be careful not to fall in my heels and wreck my gown, I think it was well worth the risk for these images.

Leopard thrifted top

Brooks Brother’s bowtie

Aldo wedges

Also, it began to rain as we shot this…Oh the things I do for a good picture!

Rafaello and Co. Jewelry

Friday evening I brought some of my fellow NYC Fashion Bloggers to the lovely showroom of Rafaello and Co Jewelry.  In this international jewelers they do custom pieces such as necklaces, watches, et cetera for high end clientele including many famous rappers.

LOVE the cat ring (you know, for $30,000 or so) and that fuschia watch? $60,000. Oh, I cannot wait until the days when I can afford something nice for myself!

For this event I came in a Diane Von Furstenberg dress, Wild Pair heels, Forever 21 belt, and an H&M jacket. Fancy, yet fun, and it flowed perfectly into my Friday night festivities.

The Ocean Breathes Salty

Outside of fashion I think I’d have to say my biggest passion is the sea; the salty air, the temperate sand, the crashing waves…the enamoring creatures, the myths and the facts, the history. I love jellyfish, sharks, sting rays, octopus’…in fact, it’s my birthday wish to go to the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut for my birthday in a few weeks so I can feed the sting rays (hint hint: MOM).

While driving back from my adventures in the great north, I asked my father to stop by the family summer home, in Scarborough, Maine just to see the sea. It was a surprisingly warm November day at 54 degrees, and the air was just perfect. The dead sea grass and cold sand were a great compliment to the cool, but crisp air.

Though I wasn’t quite fashionably dress (Victoria’s Secret PINK yoga pants, UGG boots, and my ex-boyfriends flannel shirt) I figured I’d still share this happy scene with you readers.

Nothing, no words can explain, the unfaltering infatuation I have with the ocean and the beach…

Mourning Glory

As previously stated, my grandfather recently passed. I didn’t have much “warmer” black clothes, so I made due with a thrifted maxi skirt and BCBG dress over top and was astounded with how fashionable it looked, though it wasn’t meant to. For warmth I had my Alice Yim NY cocoon cardigan, and my Grass jacket from Macy’s.

Here are some photos, for your enjoyment!

For such a sad day, I looked well, and received many compliments. Apparently, though I felt like a disappointment, my GeeGee (grandfather) praised me as his successful, eldest granddaughter living and thriving in New York City.

Needless to say, he will be sorely missed. Thanks for all of your support, by the way readers, during my tough time.
