Girl Crush: NYC Fashion Blogger of The Month: Candy!

Okay, so this is a two birds with one stone murder type post. As a coordinator for the NYC Fashion Blogger MeetUp Group I’m in charge of picking my favorite blogger for the month, so obviously I’m going to pick a girl who’s style I’m totally crushing.

I’d seen pictures of the lovely Candy of Taylor and Demolish before I met her and immediately asked the other coordinators who she was and why I hadn’t met her and her always-studded self. Once I finally met her it was like we instantly clicked. As previously stated, she’s always wearing something studded, and she tends to reconstruct and sew her own clothes! She’s got both sides of her head shaved (yea, I’m a little jealous), tattoos, leather boots. Yea, she fits right in with the rest of my girl crushes 🙂 Oh! And she’s a fellow Brooklynite 🙂

Here’s some pictures of Candy being an amazing NYC Fashion Blogger:

If you’re into kick a$$ style and AMAZING DIY tutorials (clutches, dresses, studded chucks…) be sure to check out her blog, Taylor and Demolish.

R&Em Spring 2011

One recent stormy NYC evening I attended the Rebecca Minkoff R&Em Spring 2011 handbag party held in Chelsea. The event was an experience, bringing together some of the top bloggers of the NYC area. The party was in honor of the release of their spring lookbook featuring miss Keiko Lynn, who I personally follow on BlogLovin and am hugely in love with.

I walked in to my jacket being taken, hugs and kisses from friends, and champagne being handed to me. Fruit and pastries were also available as guests mingled, oggling the new collection.

It was so great to see Yanil and Janique, who I’ve both seen rather recently. It was also great to meet even more amazing bloggers, including Nicole of Black Shoes Diary and Clotaire of Spenderella who’s an international blogger!

As you can see, we’re all clutching our brand new gifts, courtesy of Rebecca Minkoff. Yanil and I both opted for the same black satchel, while Clotaie and Nicole for straw bags and clutches. The event also boasted bouquets of flowers for us to build ourselves. We could pick from unbloomed tuplis, roses, babies breath, and other spring flowers to brighten the stormy air.

The rest of the collection was stunning, a perfect mix of punk meets classics with studding, prints, furs, and pinks.

Totally dying for these faux fur bags….

All of these great bags are sold exclusively at Macy’s and Macy’s.com, and are fairly well priced.

It was an amazing experience and I had so much fun!
