A Christmas Post

Christmas has come and gone in a sweep! I blame my lack of time on my full time seasonal position, which don’t get me wrong, I love!

But here, a short but sweet photo log of my Christmas, with a few captions and explanations!

(Flamingo garland)

(Calendar for the New Year)

(Marilyn Sugar Skull tee from my sister <3)

(my Maven, playing lazy Godzilla in my father’s Christmas village)

(Heat Tech shorts from Uniqlo, PacSun thermal)

(Family game of cards)

(Ended the night with sushi and scorpion bowls)

I hope everyone has enjoyed their holidays! I got plenty more things (just no pictures, but I’m in LOVE with all the tea’s I got and my fancy new pretty kettle, as well as more clothes!) Hopefully you see more of me and outfit posts soon!

Fashion Friends, Fleas, and French Food

Sunday I met up with a few of my NYC Fashion Blogger friends to hit up the famed Williamsburg, Brooklyn Flea Market. It was however, my third week in a row there, so I just perused my favorite booths and added my two cents into the other girls’ purchases and potentials. We lounged around for a bit on the gorgeous waterfront which is coincidentally my second favorite view in all of New York City.

As fashion bloggers, we took a substantial amount of pictures of each other, so the images all link back to each blogger’s blog!

After walking around followed by relaxing, we headed to a late brunch down Bedford Ave at an amazing french restaurant. We all had some sort of delicious plate, and then were surprised by a dessert tasting! My favorite is the creme brulee, though the chocolate mousse was decadently rich like a thick fudge and the seasoned fruit cake melted in your mouth.

Mmmm….fancy, delicious, AMAZING creme brulee! Now for the fashion; What I Wore:

Forever 21 crop top

Vintage maxi skirt

DB sandals

Peter Grimm hat

Vintage cross body bag

My Weekend of Eats

The past week has been crazy. Last Friday was just…emotional, to say the least. I skipped everything I was supposed to do that day in order to lay around in my Victoria’s Secret Pink and go out for some retail therapy. The only good thing that came from Friday? I finally got that YSL orange lipstick I’ve been wanting! I feel like it’s the only red/orange I can wear with my bright hair without looking like a five dollar hooker.

Saturday was a day of indulgence and gluttony. It began with brunch at my favorite spot, Cafeteria ofcourse! then a much needed nap before dinner at the fabulously fancy Giovanni’s on the Upper East Side. I had a four course meal, including picking off of everyone else at the table. the favored dishes? My appetizer of baby artichoke hearts with pistachios, Anne’s appetizer of rissotto topped with black truffles, Eliza’s roast duck, raspberry sorbet, and ofcourse, the tiramisu. We went through three delicious bottles of wine, as well as being treated to limoncello by Mr. Giovanni himself. But seriously, the tiramisu is to die for. If you ever have the funds or opportunity to treat yourself to Giovanni’s, please try this dessert!

Sunday was another day of indulgence, as well as retail therapy. I began with brunch at The Viceroy on 8th and 18th, which I’d never been to before. I left with a new favorite brunch spot. Mimosa’s and bloody Mary’s were only $5 with the purchase of an entree, and my entree, stuffed challah french toast, was a pallette pleaser.

The cinnamon sugar coated granny smith apples truly made the plate. The fresh fruit and melon on the side was a nice touch as well. Shopping went as planned, and I spent a good hour in All Saints in SoHo, falling in love with spring time dresses and swimsuits. Sadly, I’m not too keen on their bikini bottom fit; I feel it is only purposed for tanning and lack of movement.

Dinner was eaten at a unique Williamsburg sushi house called Sapporo Haru. It became my favorite sushi spot a few weeks ago when I noticed their extremely low priced miso soup and their sweet potato tempura rolls, another must-try.

As far as fashion, I pretty much lived in tights, my black wedges, and some dress mix with my pink cardi and wool jakcet with the leopard trim.

And well, that was my semi-unfashionable yet delicious weekend. I ate my feelings and am now fully paying off with tight jeans for my first week of my new job.
