Ariel, The Little Mermaid

20121029-072033.jpg
The weekend before Halloween and I, like, many other 20-something year olds, went out to party! My costume; my favorite Disney character of Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I wore a bandeau top from Wet Seal that I pinched together with string, along with a DIY maxi skirt, a thrifted “rainbow fish” cardigan from Saver’s, and my thrifted $5 seashell belt. I also used a vintage Saks Fifth Avenue handbag with netting and pearls and a fork from my kitchen!

What do you think of my costume? Did you dress up this past weekend? What are you for this festive Halloween season!?

It’s True I Crave You

Loving this look I put together for a generic Saturday. Can I just gloat about how fabulous my a$$ looks? BA-donk. Sorry, I’m white and relish every chance I get to feel like I have some junk in the trunk.

Anyway, I’m wearing a new piece of jewelry in my collection! If you haven’t caught on by now, I have a lust for all things aquatic, and this sea horse bracelet is perfect. Eclectic Eccentricity sent it over the Atlantic to me! I love the antiqued gold aesthetic; so rusticly chic. Also, the website offers the bracelet in 3 sizes which means mine is daintily small and perfectly fits my wrist, which is hard to come by in my life thanks to my toddler sized wrists.

Last Day in Manuel Antonio

Manuel Antonio was GORGEOUS, if you hadn’t gathered by the previous posts’ pictures. I mean, so was Costa Rica in General, but the beach owns my heart. On the last day I rocked a comfortable, airy maxi skirt with my bralet from Urban Outfitters and took one last advantage of the balcony and view.

Manuel Antonio Day 3: I’m on a Boat

On my third day in Manuel Antonio, we woke up at 7 am to go snorkeling! I’d never been and it had been a dream of mine! We took a lovely coastal ride in the boat and then threw anchor on a nice little reef. My host family had warned me that it was “red tide” meaning there were supposedly more sharks than usual so I was a bit more nervous than I should have been, but all was good.

Things I saw: Lots of blue fishies, some brown fish, a poisonous sea urchin, a live starfish who walked all over my hand. Dolphins. And NO sharks!

After I’d had my fun in the salty sea it was time to relax on the boat with some fresh pineapple before taking a few jumps off the top of the boat; SO MUCH FUN!

Day Trip to the Sea

In my recent job hunting I had a job interview in the seaside town of Newport, RI as a receptionist in a tattoo shop. Combining two things I love, the ocean and tattoos.

I brought my sister along and we made a day out of it, stopping at various scenic points for some fun and picture taking!

Vintage tee

Levi’s Curve ID jeans

CG oxford flats from Barami

Forever 21 hat

I’m a big fan of Levi’s jeans, and I’m proud to have been sized for my curve ID fit. I’m a demi curve :).

While the day was a mild 56 degrees inland, as the sun began to set on the water it began to get a little chilly, so don’t mind the shrugged cold shoulders in the next picture.

Also, directly after the picture was taken, my worst fear of the day came true; the wind picked up my hat and blew it into the ocean. I’m sad, but at $6.50 I guess I’ll have to pick up another.

The Ocean Breathes Salty

Outside of fashion I think I’d have to say my biggest passion is the sea; the salty air, the temperate sand, the crashing waves…the enamoring creatures, the myths and the facts, the history. I love jellyfish, sharks, sting rays, octopus’…in fact, it’s my birthday wish to go to the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut for my birthday in a few weeks so I can feed the sting rays (hint hint: MOM).

While driving back from my adventures in the great north, I asked my father to stop by the family summer home, in Scarborough, Maine just to see the sea. It was a surprisingly warm November day at 54 degrees, and the air was just perfect. The dead sea grass and cold sand were a great compliment to the cool, but crisp air.

Though I wasn’t quite fashionably dress (Victoria’s Secret PINK yoga pants, UGG boots, and my ex-boyfriends flannel shirt) I figured I’d still share this happy scene with you readers.

Nothing, no words can explain, the unfaltering infatuation I have with the ocean and the beach…

More From Kyle Burnell

As previously stated, while on vacation in Maine I did a photoshoot with local photographer, Kyle Burnell. Here’s a few more shots from that fun early morning shoot!

Intimately Free People sleeveless hoodie

Target Bikini

Black tailored men’s shirt from my Dad

This sleeveless hoodie is honestly one of my FAVORITE pieces of my wardrobe. It’s perfect in the summer, as a beach cover up, as a risque top, as an extra layer addition. I have some outfits in the works with it that are just…well, I mean, I think they’re pretty rad. You’ll have to wait and see them!

Hope you enjoy the images!
