Tequila Daze

I spent this Saturday drinking tequila with one of my best friends in New England, Julliana. We spent it at this lovely Providence cantina, Lola’s, then headed back to her place for some chilling on the stoop.

New American Classic

Outfit: As seen in my video haul! Wore this look out shopping with my mum, and to drinks and dinner with her and my father. A lovely retro vintage dress made slightly more “me” and modern with my over worn leather jacket, Aldo wedges, and Belt that was a gift from Alicat Avril Lemeiux.

Funny little bit: my mom and I ordered drinks, then realized we had coincidentally matched our drinks to our nails!

When It’s Too Cold To Leave The House

DAMN it’s cold out. 16 degrees? No thanks, not unless I absolutely NEED to venture outside.

So what did I do inside all day? I learned how to do a french twist and attempted to recreate Lady GaGa’s hair from the dance rehearsal portion of her “Marry The Night” music video. Threw on a little white eye shadow, cat eye liner, and vampy red lips and had myself a mini photoshoot of sorts in my bathroom!

I know it’s not the best, but I’m thinking I could practice till it’s perfect!

Thoughts?

Go Try It On Halloween

Tuesday night I was cordially invited to the exclusive costume party hosted by website GoTryItOn!  GoTryItOn is such a fun interactive site that I use where you upload pictures of your looks BEFORE you go out and people write their opinions! It’s like the old school webcam chatting with friends, but you get a vast range of opinions from people all over the world who loves style as much as you do. You can view my profile on the site here.

So anyway, they invited me to their exclusive holiday party in SoHo. The venue was decorated, the DJ was exceptionally great, and there were jack-o-lantern buckets of candy and fun costume extra’s on every table.

I went as Wilma Flintstone, though I kind of made my hair too big and my bones were hardly noticeable. I also convinced my “plus one” to let me paints his face for an hour into a skeleton, which turned out to be a huge hit!

I wore a white dress from rainbow, pulling a Monroe and staple-altering it! Also wore Bakers heels, a fringed bag from Limited Too, and a fur jacket that my mother had bought me for Christmas a few years ago.

The party was so much fun, and I can’t wait to get the pictures back from the photobooth there!

Also, please note this is my FIRST costume…there will be many more to come so stay tuned! ❤

Behind The Scenes: Amirah Creations Lookbook

Yesterday I had the pleasure of modeling for the Amirah Creations lookbook. The line is retro and vintage inspired, so it was only fitting that hair and make up carried on with the theme with pin up ‘dos and glam faces.

LOVED my hair like this! Also, here’s a random snapshot from me modeling Amirah’s Creatioons during NYFW!

Enjoy! I’ll be haring the official lookbook images with you once they’re finished, so be ready! ❤

Hair

My hair is one of my most priced possessions. It’s been through a lot, especially within the past three years. Let’s recount:

Almost Platinum January 2008

Natural Color/Dark Brown April 2008

June 2009, green tips.

Mermaid/Sea Foam green, june/july 2009

Bright Pinkish/red Mid July 2009

RED August 2009

Blonde with Red lowlights September 2009

Blonde November 2009

Strawberry Pink January 2010

Red February 2010

Shaved side/Undercut July 2010

Darker red with Blonde underlights.

That’s where my hair currently is. I’ve also been planning to do some more changes to my hair, and have been inspired by many images:

(all images above found via Tumblr.com)

As you can see, I love bright reds. I’m also realllly wanting to put some more mermaid color back in my hair. I think once my blonde gets lights I’ll add the teal.

I also really miss my undercut. I think with the warm months ahead I’ll be bringing it back…

What do you guys think? What’s your favorite hairstyle? What’s the craziest thing you’ve done to your hair.

Rainy Boring Day…

My work’s closed this week for “maintenance” (I’m sure everybody has heard about the bed bug epidemic on 5th Ave, right?) and I had nothing to do but walk the dog today. By 6pm I was bored out of my mind and decided to do what I do best when I’m bored; futz around with make up and my hair!

I apologize in advance for the quality of the photos as this was a spur of the moment idea and they were all taken with my iPhone.

I started with my hair; it’s a pin-up/beehive inspired by Prada. I did it with the help of the tutorial that was posted earlier this week on The Fish Tank . That Fritha has wonderful tutorials, I must say.

My hair was difficult; it curls, which is both a blessing and a  curses when trying to tease hair. Mostly it was a curse though when I’d try and brush the front whisps over the teased hive. Also, my lack of hair on my left side of my head made it complicated. I had to force the other half of my hair to cover the entire hive… Next time I will have to keep some pieces out for smoothing.

Contrary to her’s and Prada’s ‘look’ I used a teal leopard printed scarf from Limited Too and tied it around my hair at the end of the process.

Next I decided some nice classy pin-up inspired make up would complete me. I used white shadow by Make Up Forever, my black Maybelline gel eyeliner, Givenchy mascara (the round brush makes for amazing lashes), and a dash of red lipstick to finish me off!
As you can see I’m totally bumming it in a KrushRadio tee shirt and sweatpants but hey! At least I managed to match 😉

Anyway, just a few fun pics of this fairly simple yet couture-like look. Be sure to check out Fritha’s tutorial here !

American Pin Up

A few weeks ago I did a photoshoot which was tattooed/pin up themed. I did my own hair and make up, which I’m incredibly proud of. The pictures came out pretty great and I figured I’d share them with you all!

and my favorite shot; In a Frederick’s of Hollywood bra and daisy duke shorts that I cut up myself:
