Old photos from the warmer months of a trip to Newport, RI where I toured the Breakers Vanderbilt mansion. It was a gorgeous place with spectacular views and just so spacious and dreamy!

Jumping on the bandwagon with the printed pants trend! How perfectly do they go with this blazer? Also, cheeky tee. I’m so comfortable and feeling fun in this ensemble!

Styling by Sahra

This past Sunday I bravely faced my hangover and went to assist on a photoshoot with two long time friends, Greg Easton with model Colleen Leary. It was a ton of fun helping style and being an extra set of eyes and opinion, making sure everything was flawless for the images and helping with posing and locations. This was one of my first times working behind the camera (even if I wasn’t pressing the button) and it’s safe to say it won’t be my last!

We’re Running Just as Fast as We Can

Fun summer look I wore to a sushi lunch. I’m loving the splatter effect with the perfectly on trend neon colors. I kept the theme going with a hot pink bag, pink lips, and neon green nails. Yea, NEON.

Classy Gal

One of my favorite things about myself is my versatility. Today, I flipped my hair, covered the shaved bit, threw on a more conservative summer dress and some sparkly jewelries, and called it a day. This alter ego is usually reserved for job interviews, important meetings, or court (oh, parking tickets), but today I just felt like being a little classier.

It’s funny how society can view and treat you differently based on your aesthetic sometimes…Scratch that, most of the time. If you’ve been following anything on the news lately, though, you may have seen the handsome mohawked man landing a robot on Mars, and that really got me thinking about how the times they are a-changing. So, for a good read if you’re curious or into the rebellious look but want to keep your job, please head on over to FemInspire and give my latest article a read!

Rorschach

If you’re into fashion in the slightest you’ve noticed the rising trend of intricate mirrored prints. My collection is small, with this Forever 21 skirt from this outfit post, and my thrifted maxi from this outfit post, but I’m still looking to add more to my collection!

We’ve seen it with Jonathon Saunders, Givenchy, D&G, McQueen… and all the knock-off/off-price brands and shops. I think it’s safe to say this trend is sticking and it’s time to invest in a statement piece. What I’m currently lusting? These gorgeous mirror prints by Alexander McQueen (view the set here!).

Seriously considering dipping into my savings for this last one….can’t get much more ‘me’ than bone inspired lace in black!

What do you think of this trend? Also, the sale lace dress, worth a potential investment? Thoughts? Discuss, and be sure to check out MatchesFashion (where I found these dresses) for great other finds and deals!

Saturday Adventures

Casual adventures and errands on the first sunny day (and a Saturday to boot!) in what feels like weeks! Went on a walk with family, friends, and furs, then a dinner lunch and flower shopping! A splendid day out, if I may say so myself.

Dad’s Sweater

Ever since I was about 4 years old I’ve pondered the letters and design of this sweater. I may never know, but it will always be a nostalgic piece for me. I wore this out on a very unsuccessful trip to the local thrift store. If you follow me on my twitter you may have noticed that I found a gorgeous sheer maxi. Brought it to the counter, it was rang up, bagged, everything. Smile on my face. Then, the credit card machine was down. WOMP WOMP WOMP.

Also I literally CANNOT STOP wearing this Covergirl lipstick of my mom’s. It goes with my hair and is just dark enough to give me the right amount of edge without being overpowering.

Bows!

I’ve always been a go-getter for knowledge when it comes to being inspired by great things. When Lady GaGa’s pokerface video came out I immediately learned the (surprisingly easy) steps to creating the Hair Bow. I’ve worn my hair like this a few times, and have done it to many of my friends’ hair for nights out.

This night I wore it to the Bob Mackie Famed Art Collection Blogger get together. For those of you who don’t know, Bob Mackie is up there with Karl Lagerfeld as a TRUE fashion illustrator. Currently being released are his prints of vegas showgirls, weird clowns, colorful kittens, and ofcourse, plenty of fashion. The event was great, and I’ve always been a fan of Bob Mackie so it was exciting to pick out a piece to have shipped to my home! I chose the below piece in the blue shade but also seriously debated the cats. My kitten is staying with my parents for a month, and I miss him terribly. I am quite happy with my choice though!

The event had bowls of candy, Izze sodas and Perrier, and pop chips. Sadly, due to the weather and such I’ve been rather under the weather all week and barely enjoyed some water, but that didn’t take away from how great a time it was hanging out with other bloggers and meeting great new people!

Now, What I Wore:

This top is actually a dress, from the little girls’ store Limited Too from when I worked there for almost two years. The jeans, well. These jeans are by Vigoss….from well. Let’s not put a date on it, but I’ve had them since I was in 7th grade. So happy to still fit them, and so great that I kept them, what with the wide leg coming back in style!

And ofcourse, my favoured Aldo wedges and vintage bag.

Hope you enjoy, and don’t forget to follow me on BlogLovin or leave a note with a comment ❤
