The Reason I Hold On is Because I Need This Hole Gone

I want you to stay
oh, stay

photo

This song; every time it comes on the radio I need to blast it and sing along, heartfelt and out of key. There’s no one out of my life that I wish had stayed, yet I’m completely smitten with today’s song of the day. Not to mention this perfect, bold and bright hued skirt for Spring form the Prabal Gurung for Target Collaboration. Seriously, one of my favorite Target collabs ever; my only regret is not getting the black paneled dress and any of the shoes. I figured it’d go perfectly, and in breezy seasonably, with this vintage crop top (I got it from Express a million years ago, that counts as vintage, right!?) and added a little future with the holographic clutch. And who would I be without a little leather? The only thing I’m missing is some glam jewels. As I grow older I find my styles change and mature; long gone are the days are bright costume jewelry, welcome to the days of timeless and priceless pieces with the REAL glam flare of glitz and glamour.

Life’s a Gamble

This look is the first I’m sharing with you from my photoshoot with New England photographer, Dark Side Images. This look was put together in my head, slightly better, for weeks, and when the day came to finally don it it was raining, but this dice black and red umbrella fit perfectly with the look!

I was somewhat inspired bythe concept of casinos. Also, my parents love going to Foxwoods and other nearby casinos. Me? I tried my hand at gambling in Atlantic City on New Years but haven’t made it back to a casino since.

Rafaello and Co. Jewelry

Friday evening I brought some of my fellow NYC Fashion Bloggers to the lovely showroom of Rafaello and Co Jewelry.  In this international jewelers they do custom pieces such as necklaces, watches, et cetera for high end clientele including many famous rappers.

LOVE the cat ring (you know, for $30,000 or so) and that fuschia watch? $60,000. Oh, I cannot wait until the days when I can afford something nice for myself!

For this event I came in a Diane Von Furstenberg dress, Wild Pair heels, Forever 21 belt, and an H&M jacket. Fancy, yet fun, and it flowed perfectly into my Friday night festivities.

Ringing in 2012

Hello, and Happy New Year you gorgeous fashionista’s and followers!

I’m in an exceptionally good mood, starting 2012 on a good note. For my NYE I spent it in Atlantic City, seeing my favorite band ever, Brand New, who I had never seen before, play a three set show. I know, music on a fashion blog? But it was THAT big a deal for me.

So, due to it just being a rock show, you won’t see any heels in this post. I wore some battered up Toms Shoes I had inherited from my previous roommate, with an American Apparel skirt, Target tights (god, I hate the hearts; I’d thought I’d grabbed solid black!), a new top from Urban Outfitters, and a Forever 21 jacket. It seems very clashy to me, but what do you all think?

As the clock counted down a chorus of a few hundred fans shouted a repetitious “They’re just jealous ‘cuz we’re young and in love” as twin screens behind the band showed the ball drop, dropping confetti and balloons on top of us.

It was magical, blissful, and pure perfection.

Hope you’re new year was all that you hoped for and more, and here’s to hoping 2012 is 12983719871293 times better than 2011!

HVS at Brooklyn Stone Boutique

Friday night I was invited to attend the in-store launch for DC brand House of Versatile Style.

This gorgeous little boutique located right in the sweet and serene Clinton Hill, Brooklyn carries a number of lines and has no just began carrying HVS (House of Versatile Style).  The event itself was a blast; a small intimate group of fashion and beauty bloggers, including my dear Monroe, with delectable sangria and cupcakes in a range of flavors. The designs being sold by HVS are a curation of the past couple of season’s lines, but still just as fashionable with shiny, sparkly, tribal, and versatile pieces. The store will also be carrying some HVS jewelry which is just as flashy and are great statement pieces.

Patricia Field’s Valentine’s Ball

After the IFB conference and workshops I went home and immediately changed to go to the Patricia Field Valetnine’s ball. I got there early to take some backstage pictures of the models getting ready, hair and make up and such. All of the models were professional dancers from various companies around New York City. Make up was by Llamasque, who I LOVE for their pigments. THe event was co-hosted by the fabulous DJ Cassidy, and sponsored by (in addition to Llamasque) Trojan Vibrations, Cafe Bustello, and Belvedere Vodka, YUM!

Around 10 pm the party was starting. Belvedere had reps making drinks at bars lining the entire wall of the Captiale’s ballroom. The model/dancer’s were go go dacing all around, and guests were coming in for photo ops dressed like the club kids of her demographic. I took my photo taken, took some with some other fabulous guests, and mingled about. The party was also in celebration of Patricia’s birthday so she was merrily drinking and looking fabulous. Thankfully I managed to get into the VIP section, meeting up with Richie Rich, Angela Simmons, and a number of fabulous people.
