Repeat Pleasures

I wanted all of this to never subside
I never wanna miss a moment of life

 photo twoway_zps5704f2f1.jpg

Welcome, to the second look of me styling the trending pleated midi skirt (c/o The Girl That Loves)! While my first look with the skirt was feminine and subdued, using muted neutrals and flirty florals, this look veers in the opposite direction. With a leather jacket and a bold 80’s inspired crop, I’ve created a biker meets femme aesthetic. The subtle crop top makes for perfect hinting at any edgy body jewelry (belly ring), similar to the styles on FreshTrends.com; chic, fashionable, and practical.

What do you think of this look? How would YOU style a pleated midi to highlight your personal style!?

Another duo-styled post for you guys! Z is getting better about being in front of the camera, which is great; y’all have always been telling me you want to see more guy style! This post was inspired by a listening spree of The 1975 and being drawn to the lyrics of their song chocolate. I made Z go all matchy matchy with me, all black and a little bohemian with gold accessories and leathered belts. This would be cool festival style, if we weren’t in all black and too cool (read: frugal) to go to music festivals.

Dust and Bones

Life and death, we won’t rest
Til we’re dust and bones
The clock keeps turning, the world keeps burning
It’s life and death, we won’t rest,
Til we’re dust and bones

Fun and flirty outfit that I wore on a recent date night! The handsome one and I had a post-office day happy hour at Dirty Martini bar before venturing to The Bombay Club for an Indian dinner. OHMYGOD the food was amazing. I had Saag paneer and garlic naan, a bottle of old vine zinfandel, followed by…mango creme brulee. Who ever thought such a beautiful thing could exist!?? Even though I prefer to shy away from dairy/creamy products, this one was totally worth it.
Post food-coma, we decided to head to a bar we’d read and heard about, Quill at the Jefferson Hotel. This intimate hotel bar was quite an experience; the staff was creative, friendly, and intelligent. The drinks were how does one say….divine? Z had one drink that came with a flaming orange peel…

Thankfully, I wore comfortable clothes that allotted for my food/drink baby and all of the walking for our adventurous evening.

You Make My Heavy Metal Heart Beat

You turn my red to black
I’m never coming back
The way I was before
I’m not her anymore

This little lady-rocker blogger wore this look to the CappFABB 3rd anniversary party a few weeks ago! I wanted to wear something that encapsulated my personal style, as I knew I’d be meeting a lot of new people and wanted to put on my most “me” front; that’s what fashion is for anyway, amiright!? I received plenty of compliments on my body hugging skirt, which I loved for the way it made me feel comfortable within my own size and accentuated my shape.

So about the party; I did meet a ton of amazing bloggers, some of whom we were virtual/following buddies and it was great to put facial expressions to the name and photos. I also met a whole slew of new blogger friends, whom I’m excited to spend more time with! Almost a year into my life in DC and I’m finally starting to make friends, haha! I had a wonderful time sipping on wine at Dirty Martini Bar, picking out some jewels with the CapWellCo bauble bar, and just bonding with everyone!

It’s booked; the next trip to indulge my wanderlusting bones. The beau and I will be venturing from one capitol city to the next, from DC to DF; ¡VAMOS A CIUDAD DE MEXICO!

So in preparation and to aid in my excitement I’ve prepared a wishlist for what I dream of packing in my suitcase. I’m inspired by airy maxis, chic but functional rompers, and on-trend but relevant accessories.
