As the Sky Darkens

Chipped neon nail polish and plenty of exposed skin. Summer, please don’t end. I never want to wear more than a casual leather jacket, draped across endlessly freckled shoulders.

Maybe these dreams could come true…I’ll keep you posted.

To Maine, With Love

The suitcases are packed with swimsuits and sweaters, sunscreen and bug spray. I’m ready for warm beachy days and breezy nights. I’m feeling Parisian as I leave Southern Massachusetts, and though Scarborough is no Paris, I know I’m in for a good vacation. Don’t worry readers, I have posts queued up for you to read whilst I enjoy the beach!

The First Taste of Spring

March 8th and we had our first real taste of spring. With the temperature at 67 degrees I was able to ditch my over-worn denim for a skirt and tank top; finally!

I spent the day enjoying some alone time driving WITHOUT music; I rarely do that and I got so lost in thought I’d even forget that there was no noise, just me and my thoughts !Had a lovely meeting at a tattoo shop, then hung out with a friend, getting drunk of Butterscotch Pinnacle before bars and eventually, into dreamland and sleep.

New York, You Set My Heart on Fire

I moved to NYC in 2007. I’ve been here ever since (with a few short stints in MA which don’t count because I lived out of my suitcase).

I love this place; there’s always something to do, so many unique people, and its ever inspiring. Though someday I may leave for the west coast (these 12 degree days are killing me) I think I’ll always have a home here. The skyline forever makes my heart skip beats and it never loses it’s novelty, even after these four and a half years.

Mourning Glory

As previously stated, my grandfather recently passed. I didn’t have much “warmer” black clothes, so I made due with a thrifted maxi skirt and BCBG dress over top and was astounded with how fashionable it looked, though it wasn’t meant to. For warmth I had my Alice Yim NY cocoon cardigan, and my Grass jacket from Macy’s.

Here are some photos, for your enjoyment!

For such a sad day, I looked well, and received many compliments. Apparently, though I felt like a disappointment, my GeeGee (grandfather) praised me as his successful, eldest granddaughter living and thriving in New York City.

Needless to say, he will be sorely missed. Thanks for all of your support, by the way readers, during my tough time.

Fall Uniform

I’ve legitimately already worn this outfit three times. Begging my roommate to take photos of it and he always refused, so I’d wear it again. Why not? It’s cute, comfortable, warm…It’s my perfect fall uniform! So, in lieu of football being on ALL day, I was able to strike a deal in exchange of photos for the television rights.

I made this skirt, and a matching vest, straight out of high school. I have never attended a private school but I sometimes ponder how things would have played out differently if I had. Would it have hindered my sartorial experimentation, or would it have challenged me and forced me to hone in on proper accessorizing?

In present times, though, my only problem is that I’m not currently in school. I miss education, learning, and challenging myself with projects and my high aspirations for good grades. Who knows, hopefully I can go back to school someday but for now I’ll keep wearing my burgundy plaid skirt and working my dream in the fashion industry.

Granma’s 90th

While on vacation we took a break from our home cooked dinners to go out for my grandmother’s 90th birthday dinner. We took a nice family picture (which we then had framed and given to her as a gift). We then went to a Pine Point local restaurant called the Captain’s Galley. With minimal vegetarian options I opted for fried vegetables with penne and alfredo. My 14 year old brother, though, made my night. I’m a HUGEfan of french fries, so my brother verrrrrry sneakily snuck a fry on my plate at every chance he got, completely under my radar, making it so every time I looked down I had a greasy, delicious fry poking out of my pasta! In the picture below we had just taken a picture with his arm around me where he stuck one in my mouth. Silly, but it made my night.

As you can see, on those cold Maine evenings I’ve been living in this amazinglyyy comfortable cocoon cardigan. Be sure to get YOURS just in time for fall here! I’ve been keeping this casual, but with my return to NYC I’ll be ready to glam up everything, so be prepared for some killer outfits to come!

Fashion Friends, Fleas, and French Food

Sunday I met up with a few of my NYC Fashion Blogger friends to hit up the famed Williamsburg, Brooklyn Flea Market. It was however, my third week in a row there, so I just perused my favorite booths and added my two cents into the other girls’ purchases and potentials. We lounged around for a bit on the gorgeous waterfront which is coincidentally my second favorite view in all of New York City.

As fashion bloggers, we took a substantial amount of pictures of each other, so the images all link back to each blogger’s blog!

After walking around followed by relaxing, we headed to a late brunch down Bedford Ave at an amazing french restaurant. We all had some sort of delicious plate, and then were surprised by a dessert tasting! My favorite is the creme brulee, though the chocolate mousse was decadently rich like a thick fudge and the seasoned fruit cake melted in your mouth.

Mmmm….fancy, delicious, AMAZING creme brulee! Now for the fashion; What I Wore:
