Creature of Habit

You know when there’s that one piece of clothing; you already have like 5 things just like it but you go shopping and ask your significant other, do I need this? And they fully support you and say “yes, you will get so much wear out of it!”. That’s me and soft gray dresses. I have my favorite 3/4 sleeve by Banana Republic, my daily summer tank dress, my fall sweater dress… I have a ton of cozy gray dresses but still felt the need for another. Because what could be better than throwing on a short sleeved cotton swing dress for an easy outfit? Nothing. Nothing is better, or easier. Even better is how great this dress will be come fall! Since it’s so simple it will literally go with like half my closet of layers.

Kickflare

When it’s too hot for jeans but you work in an office and can’t wear shorts…and are too fashion-y for capris, then it’s time to break out the kick flares! I’m loving this denim trend this season; it’s fun, flirty, and just 90s enough to make my heart sing Alanis Morisette songs. Paired with a white button front and my classic mules I’m ready for a day at the office, or a happy hour with the girls.

I’m especially loving these jeans specifically; they’re from NY&Co which I wouldn’t peg as a great source for jeans but once I put these on it was love at first fit. They’re superrrr soft and stretchy, with lycra built in and a little bit of fade. Let’s not forget the un-hemmed aesthetic with it’s darkened bottom ending in a fray. Completely on trend while being affordable and comfortable; such a win!

The Denim Romper

Last week I had the pleasure of being invited up to The Clubhouse; the showroom modeled home of Nordstrom’s private shopping experience, Trunk Club. After being a men’s only club they’ve finally branched out to include the other gender, and I couldn’t be more excited!

After spending an hour on the phone with my personal stylist Nikki she definitely got a feel for my style and preferences. When I showed up on Monday evening I was handed a glass of champagne to accompany the rack of clothes specially picked for me. Keeping my budget and personal style preferences in mind (bold; feminine yet edgy) there was a great selection of pieces for me to choose from with budgets across the board. I fell in love with a few pieces, one being this Madewell culotte jumpsuit, because how could you not!? It was the perfect light and airy piece to bring with me on my weekend in Charleston.
