Sahra Schukraft: Photographer’s Assistant

Last weekend I took a trip to Boston with my best and favorite photographer, Greg Easton, to assist him in a band’s photoshoot! It was my first time EVER working behind the scenes and it was quite fun! As you can see though, I was in front of the lens helping to test lights and such as well. Also, note me still rocking my hospital bracelet. After the bad week I was too afraid of something new bad happening (and ofcourse, I take it off and just a few days later came my second accident).

Also, I went out later that night (after adding some thigh high tights to my outfit)

President’s Day Sales Haul

Today was President’s Day! And in the land of the retail that, of course, means SALES.

My sister and I spent the day together, finding all the best deals in Providence. Our first stop was Savers thrift store, to see if they had the sheer maxi I had wanted the other day, and they did! Forhalf off!

Next up was the providence place mall, where I picked up some maroon shorts and a tee from PacSun, where everything was 50% off. The top is a yin and yang of skulls, with a cropped midriff and cut out shoulders, holy perfection!

We perused the mall some more, where I picked up some of Dior’s new nail color for spring, Waterlily, and an elongated ring from H&M!

Special thanks to my sister for all of the wonderful gifts ❤

Dia De Los Muertos

Halloween is probably obviously my favorite time of year, and the past few years it’s gone hand in hand with the Dia De Los Muertoes, the Mexican holiday of the Day of The Dead.

While last Halloween I was a sugar skull for the actual Halloween and costume parties, this year, I did a sugar skull photo shoot early on in October and was fairly “normal” for Halloween festivities, until the actual Day of the Dead.

So on November 2nd a local bar, Union Pool, was having a little Dia De Los Muertos party and costume contest. I’d left my tu-tu at my mom’s, so I went in just face paint (and my Misfits tee and studded knee jeans and combat boots). I also did Cody’s make up again, so fun!

How was everyone’s Hallo-Weekend? Did YOU do anything fun for the Dia De Los Muertos?

End of NYFW: Socialyte Co Party

After a few quick fashion shows at Greenhouse on Wednesday evening, I headed to Griffin for the Socialyte Co end of NYFW party hosted with Rebecca Minkoff. It was a fun-filled event full of bloggers of all tiers. I mingled with a few of my NYC Fashion Bloggers, including one of our newest members, Kate, who I’d been chatting with for MONTHS and only just now officially met! Drinks were sponsored by Bombay Sapphire gin, with special Rebecca Minkoff/NYFW names! My favorite was called the “Rebecca Minkoff” a, lovely mix of gin and pomegranate syrup. The DJ played throwback hits, having all the ladies dancing around. I got to see Kimberly of Nerd in Heels for the first time since her move to California, and met an amazing jewelry designer, among other industry people.

It was a blast, but sadly my NYFW wasn’t quite finished…

Last Day in NYC

My last night in NYC for two weeks and I spent it with some of my closest friends drinking margaritas and chatting about summer adventures. My last day I spent procrastinating some packing, grabbing lunch with some friends, then off to my favorite neighborhood thrift store, Atlantis Attic.

Abbey Dawn Tee Shirts

Growing up I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Abbey Dawn designer Avril Lavigne. When she first broke out I loved her fearless tomboy/rocker style. I was insanely jealous of her rocker Sum 42 Boyfriend, then husband, now ex all-of-the-above. Avril was never on the top end of the fashion/gossip columns, yet she’s maintained a love for the industry. When her line, Abbey Dawn, released, I was skeptical. But, against the odds, her line has been going strong, and even expanded into men’s tees.

I was recently asked to model some of their tee shirts, which aren’t half bad. They’re the usual brights of the season, with graphic prints and designs, similar to what I was most commonly seen wearing back in my high school days.  Many of the shirts bear designs common to the current “rocker” or “scene” trends; mustaches, thick rims, diamonds, etc.

Also wearing Armani Exchange Jeans.

Here are a couple more tee’s from the set shot by Manny Hui.

Be sure to check out the site AbbeyDawn.com if you’re into rocker tees and accessories!
