I Never Knew That I Could Love So Hard

Before I ever met you
I never knew that I liked to be kissed for days

A quick fun look I wore to a recent local blogger happy hour, BloggersScene. A little Mexican/Frida Kahlo meets modern trends, and a perfect menage of vintage and modern textiles.

I Want to Make You Feel How I feel When Listening To Love Songs

I’m trying hard to make you love me
but I don’t wanna try too hard
And I’m trying hard to make it lively but I’m here now

A quick little outfit post; Work has been crazy, trying to keep up with NYFW has been nuts, and preparing for some big projects is more on my plate. Oh, and the omnipresent home updates and planning to get a dog. Coming home at the end of a long day to a glass of wine and my perfect man makes it all worth it; the literal four walls holding up our abode that we’ve been working so hard to make our nest.

Those four walls now are the only place where I can breathe out
Those four walls now are home
Those three words now are the only thing that can save me

Love More and Worry Less

I’m ready to transition into fall. With Sheer lengthy layers, black denim, and leathered booties, the crisp season is underway. Shot during the last days of the beach season in Pine Point, ME by Z, these shots encapsulate breezy September. While I’m already missing the sand beneath my feet, I’m ready to get fall underway and am excited for the Halloween season! Give me all the pumpkin flavors!

Eyes Bright White Sky Laughing

Hello from the beach! I’m having a fabulous time, soaking in the last days of sundrenched summer with the most handsome man; pretending that Pumpkin Spice Soy Lattes are in our distant future (even if they’re popping up all over our news feeds). One song that we’ve been loving to keep the summer vibes alive is Only Real’s “Cadillac Girl”; one of those rare songs that encompasses the feeling and beats of a never ending summer. Also keeping things going? My new friendship bracelet motif-d wrap watch and my skull dangling bracelet, from Sara Designs NYC. The jovially resemblance to bracelets I’d spent my summers perfecting is a welcome nostalgic, as well as an adult-piece. The summer-y bold hues, also perfect for transitioning into a bohemian fall, make it a piece worth keeping, and sharing! whatt!? That’s right! You can score a friendship bracelet wrap watch of your own, by following both Sara Designs NYC and I on InstaGram, liking the photo from this post, and tagging two friends! It couldn’t be easier!

She Don’t Know The Gravity She Holds

she walking so fast
Oh, our lady
she don’t know how she going
She owns the eyes as she flies right through the sound
Moving her body all around town

She Don't Know the Gravity She Holds

Leopard print and cut out heels with a dash of youthful edge; a perfect look for a summery soiree. This dress is a thrifted favorite- a leopard strapless dress with the ever-coveted pockets that makes a great closet addition as it’s versatile, just like me! It can be dressed up and dressed down depending on the mood, and for this look the mood is downtown chic. Worn to a shopping blogger event on a 90 degree day it was perfect, especially for the sunset walk home as the temperature dropped. Hello Summer, Welcome, I’ve missed you.

We’ll Ride the Coattails to the Finish Line

Outerwear as dresses seems to be a growing trend, especially among celebrities; from Red Carpets to daytime events to late night talk shows. I figured I’d try my hand at the trend with my favorite ornate jacket (and some subdued under-layers for posterity). Added some grey and gold accents and voila! What do you think of this trend? Have you seen it on the celebs or other bloggers!?

Made a Career of Composure

I’ve been doing the 9-5 grind for a bit now, and I must say I’m digging it. My first weekends-not-required job since doing corporate fashion in NYC and I love it even more than I did then. Maybe because I have someone to truly relish and take advantages of weekends with, or maybe it’s that I’ve matured to have a sartorial taste for classier dressing (at least most days of the week). I think my multitude of magazine subscriptions aides in the workplace style inspo, but I’m still my frugal and funky self. When I saw this two piece vintage suit at Buffalo Exchange I thought it was amazing. With suit sets coming back in style (with a definitive modern flair) I needed to try it on and once it was a perfect fit I knew it was fate. Ten buckaroos later I sheepishly/excitedly sped to happy hour with Z where I nervously awaited his reaction to my spur of the moment splurge. He approved, acknowledging “I know you’ll make it look good”. And here we are today; I think I nailed the modern business style, what do you think!?

Staying in my Play Pretend Where the Fun ain’t got no End

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
It’s finally spring! Time to say hello to bare skin (and welcome back, tattoos!) Crop tops, short skirt, sunglasses….and let’s not forget the current “it” bucket bag! I’m so so in love with this bag, care of Moda Luxe. Buttery vegan leather in a perfectly bold hue, and it can be dressed up or down; hello versatility! I paired it here with a fun vibed outfit; cheeky vacation and flamingo printed skort I got at the Buffalo Exchange 40th anniversary party, along with the crop top. Topped it off with some pink accessories, and I’m ready for a sunny day!

This beautiful, gorgeous handbag is the product of internet friendships turned IRL. Linell Ellis, local handbag designer, and I started talking on twitter before I realized she was local and we decided to meet for real. After showing me her latest handbag collection I was in love; everything is made from fine quality leather and metal, the “leopard” is dyed calf hair, and her logo is hand stamped with gold foil. Even just touching one of her masterpieces you can tell the care and thought that went into the design and product. Being able to take home one of these babies was a dream, even just for the weekend! As I eluded on InstaGram, picking which one was the hardest, especially with so many stunning clutches and practical cross body bags.
