Hopeless Girls Still Walk

On hot and humid days like we’ve been experiencing, it’s been my motto that less clothes is better. I’m talking free-boobing ladies! Seriously, on hot days there’s nothing better than throwing on a backless dress and some sandals and enjoying a bit of breeze where you normally wouldn’t get one (no, not THERE you sick-os!) I first fell in love with this dress at PacSun just under a year ago, and eventually found it on super sale at their outlet (after pondering it for a solid couple weeks). Ofcourse it’s a mix between two of my favorite colors, black and chartreuse, and the backless details allows for that nice breeze and a fun way to show off a little ink. Not my usual style, but more of a style I wish I could wear more often. Why doesn’t my life call for comfy capri pants and embellished peplum tops more often!? What’s a girl got to do to have more occasions to wear fancy clothes? That’s right; make her own. Throw on some party music and glam it up for…for the cats, I suppose! Why not?

Back to my punk roots with this look! I love my versatility with my style; one day I can flip my hair and nose ring to wear more conservative styles, then there’s days like this where I punk it all out and let the septum ring fly and rock out to my pop-punk tunes. We Know That Our Hearts Are Just Made Out of Strings

A second post from the whirlwind that has been my settling into life in the DMV! It’s been tedious…It’s been work. I’ve been unpacking, working, traveling, trying my best to explore and socialize, et cetera. What I’m craving most? A nice, relaxing evening involving a chill bean bag (remember those!?) and a movie with a bottle of wine, or a champagne cocktail. Alas, there’s much to be explored as I’m on the hunt for the perfect blog photographer, group of friends, brunch restaurant, lunch spot, dinner diggs, quality man; amongst maintaining my life at my new “home” with friends and new job. Confused/overwhelmed? So am I. These photos were shot by an area photographer, Kevin, who’s work can be found on his site here. I’m Just A Bad Girl, That’s Why We Get Along

Won’t make excuses for anything I’m doing wrong
I’ll pull the trigger in a flash
Watch out honey, step backIt’s been grey in New England for over a week straight; what even is the sun anymore? I’ve been trying to beat the blues (why don’t we call them greys again?) by being all around productive, but that means shooting in my yellow tinge apartment or in the freezing cold. Today I went a little different and utilized my bathtub because, why not? In addition to lacking Vitamin D, it appears I’m slacking on my iron supplements, aka: don’t mind my hideous bruises that I don’t even have the slightest clue of where they came from.

Todays song of the day puts me in a fun, Gatsby-mood, though the lyrics add the scandal and power, and it’s sucha a great track. How’s everyone liking the tunage per post!? What’s your thoughts on today’s?

Now’s The Time To Be Alive

Greetings from Baltimore! This is a casual and cozy outfit I wore to brunch with my MD/VA friends on a rainy day. The iridescent Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl’s sweater was chic and warm, just what I need for a chilly February morning. Coupled with some rolled jeans and my favorite H&M ankle booties, and I had myself a look that wasn’t too over the top, but still stayed true to my fashionable personality.
For brunch we went to Golden West Cafe, in the Hamden-Canton area of Baltimore. I felt at home in it’s hipster vibe, reminding me of my local Providence haunt of Julian’s. The Tex-Mex brunch was deliciously filling, and the salsa was almost too spicy too handle, even for a spice-queen like me.
