This is Something Bigger Than Us and Beyond Bliss

Tell me something I need to know
Then take my breath and never let it go
If you just let me invade your space
I’ll take the pleasure, take it with the pain

My first outfit post from my trip to South Africa! I wore this on our first night out to a burger joint in the upscale Randburg neighborhood of Johannesburg. The airy temperatures are my perfect dream; sunny days lending way to chilly nights that require a light jacket for layering. I think I’m learning that I was born for a mediterranean climate…and I’m dreading heading back to the states for “sprinter”. Until then, this is the first of many looks coming to you full of sun-drenched looks to help us into the coming season.backless

What We Do In The Darkness Will Come To Light

Even in the dead of night,
If we can make it to the morning,
We can get things right.

With NYFW upon us I retire to my own bedroom, not a hotel room amidst a concrete jungle. Another year of spending the week not making the pilgrimage to Lincoln Center and avoiding all that has become the “peacocking” of Fashion Week. If I were to attend, though, you’d bet your butt I’d be in a uniform like this one of cozy velvet culottes, a warmth-enhancing turtleneck and a statement coat, perusing the newest collections in the most professional of ways. In reality, I’ll be working my real job in fashion, staying warm and snowless, and prepping for my upcoming trip. Here’s hoping South Africa Fashion Week is less of a zoo of observant, hungry passionates and more of serious sartorial business work.

You Led Me to the Slaughter, But I’m Someone’s Daughter

Cynthia Steffe Dress, Francesca's Headband

A. Wang told me neon was still a ‘thing’, so one dreary day I dug up this lacey summer favorite and added some weather appropriate layers. Nothing says winter like Uniqlo HeatTech (turtleneck and tights) and suede knee high booties.

Are you doing anything to wear your summer dresses this winter?

Take My Hand and Come Along With Me

We’ve got nowhere to be
Don’t think twice, and put your mind at ease
Let’s play make believe

Cute outfit post, inspired by the impending Valentine’s Day. My beau and I will enjoy it in full relaxation mode, with Domino’s Pizza and a movie on NetFlix, safe from the kitschy and possibly dreary restaurant and bar scene. Honestly, there’s no ther way I’d want to spend it.

How will you be spending your VDay!?

Another Long Winter Trying to Fight this Freeze

Waiting on the cold’s got a hold on me

Baby, it’s COLD outside! Here in the north east it’s been a steady ten degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of days now and all I have to say is praise the gods for Uniqlo’s HeatTech, I honestly don’t know how I survived before I discovered with almost 3 years ago…This heat generating line features Japanese technology in light weight basics which are perfect for looking effortlessly chic in these below freezing temps.

Lace Batwings

I’m BACK! After a tumultuous October, I’m finally getting my life, and that includes this blog, back on track! The weather here in New England has been rather temperate, even with the impending Hurricane Sandy. I celebrated by going out in shorts, albeit UniqLo HeatTech, but still!

Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little Lies

March first, and here in the NorthEast we’re ringing in the month with a lovely little snowstorm. The roads are horrible, yet during the daylight I decided to brave the weather and go hang with some old friends with some cocktails at Applebee’s and some thrifting.

Found this lovely sequined “Rainbow Fish” cardigan that my friend graciously bought for me <33
