Beachy Getaway Wishlist

It’s the middle of July. I have yet to go to the beach. Who am I even more? This year’s sandy vacations are starting late, the first one I’ll be headed off to is in two weeks time (I can make it, I can do it). I’m getting by by working my butt off to save some extra money for outlet shopping splurges and innumerable beachside margaritas. Oh, and pondering new items to bring with me! Here’s a peek into my beachy wishlist for this year:
Beachy Getaway Must Haves via Que Sera Sahra
Nothing says “beach vibes” quite like a gauzey caftan from Calypso St Barth; perfect for all day wear, no matter where my beach wanderings bring me.
if you follow me on Twitter, you’ll have noticed it has been like THE HARDEST thing in my life to find a swimsuit.Asos fuller bust bikini is a perfect mix of cleavage-covering and cut out bearing.
Mirrored Sunnies a la Ray ban via Urban Outfitters make reading/sleeping less of a spectation.
This Yes Way Rose tote is perfect to carry all my belongings from the house to the sand to the bar.
To pair with the bag, a bottle of 2012 Domaine Tempier Bandol Rose, yes WAY.
Book: Darling You Can’t Do Both And Other Noise To Ignore for some light yet positive reading.
Pendleton Towel via South Moon Under to stay dry and cozy while getting my tan on.
Fuji Instax to capture memories instantly. It was on my goals for 2014 to capture more on film, and what better way!

Have you been to the beach yet this summer? What are your beach must-haves?

I Just Want the Simple Things

I don’t want a model
I don’t want a movie star
You don’t have to win the lotto
I want you to win my heart

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Some people don’t know this, but there are lazy days for fashion bloggers. Days you’d rather be comfortable than ultra chic. Jeans and cozy cardigan days. And on those days, there are sneaker wedges. Yes, I’m still a fan of this trend. A dash of sporty and the feel of a heel are perfect for the edgy lady that I am. As for the tonal reds and neutrals; reds are still a very new thing for me, as an ex-redhead. But the mild peplum and the coziest of wool have been some great additions to my wardrobe. Outfits like this are perfect for lounging, enjoying sips and snacks, sunshine. Speaking of food; I’m a major foodie. You’d know this if you’re following me on InstaGram! I love cooking for my boyfriend and friends, indulging in some cheeseplates, or fancy risotto. I love using quality ingredients, whether that be fresh cheese from Union Market, veggies from the farmer’s market, or Black Truffles from Fine Food Specialist.  YUM. Do you like have casual days with fancy food?

Solsbury (Federal) Hill

I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
“Hey” he said “Grab your things
I’ve come to take you home.”
(Back home)FBP7

Sahra_Final_-5Sahra_Final_-4 Sahra_Final_-6 FBP8These photos were shot right here in Baltimore over the breezy weekend, on Federal Hill overlooking the inner harbor. I worked with a new photographer, who has potential to be the EffortlessCool official photographer; great potential! He brought some great creativity to our shoot and definitely knew what he was doing; which is refreshing and exciting to me. I’m hoping to put in motion plenty of ideas I’ve had for the blog mulling around inside my head.
Anyway, this was definitely a fun set to shoot, despite the bone chilling wind. I loved the cityscape background mixed with the earthy tones, which lent a hand to playing up the similar colors in my outfit. Seeing the skyline and harbor is really making me fall in love with my new home and I’ve been loving seeing more of what it has to offer, even if my Brooklyn Bones are still aching for the streets I formerly called home.

Another Long Winter Trying to Fight this Freeze

Waiting on the cold’s got a hold on me
a hold on me
so hold onto me

Baby, it’s COLD outside! Here in the north east it’s been a steady ten degrees Fahrenheit for a couple of days now and all I have to say is praise the gods for Uniqlo’s HeatTech, I honestly don’t know how I survived before I discovered with almost 3 years ago…This heat generating line features Japanese technology in light weight basics which are perfect for looking effortlessly chic in these below freezing temps.

Man Repelling as a Ghetto Republican WRapper

**Please note this title is satirical**

_DSC8025

Completely channeling Leandra AKA The Man Repeller with this look; pattern mixing to the extreme. The idea of pattern mixing used to send my OCD into a fit just thinking about it, but the idea has been growing on me and I must say it’s quite invigorating to dress a little “crazy” and make the people around me roll their eyes. In fact, when I came out with this on my photographer friend giggled and mentioned I look like a white ghetto republican rapper (hence the title). I went with it; threw on my favorite rap sing-a-long of Nelly’s Hot in Herre, and had some fun shooting this.

Lace Batwings

I’m BACK! After a tumultuous October, I’m finally getting my life, and that includes this blog, back on track! The weather here in New England has been rather temperate, even with the impending Hurricane Sandy. I celebrated by going out in shorts, albeit UniqLo HeatTech, but still!

I’ve Lost A Lot But I Won’t Let This Die

Simple outfit I wore to the mall to stock up on some fall pieces with my sister! Kept it fairly simple.

Sorry for my absence, I’ve had little support, morally and financially lately and was feeling really down and irrelevant (really; how could I define my life’s worth by whether or not I own Jeffrey Campbell’s). But with the help of a new job and a smidge of support from my mother and sister, I’m back! and though I’m taking a break from this season’s Fashion Week (the first I haven’t been a part of since 2008) I’m ready to dedicate myself and be back at it better than EVER come February. Until then, my outfit posts may subside, but I solemnly swear to update at least once a week.

Now, back to the outfit….

I’ll Take You In Pieces, We Can Take it All Apart

WOW it’s been a crazy day! If you follow me on InstaGram (@EffortlessCoolSahra) you’d have noticed that I was at work bright and early, narrowly avoided a fatal car accident, had a court hearing, ate lots of deliciousness, and a doctor’s appointment; all before the 90210 Season Finale. WOAH, right?

Rings from Forever 21 & Urban Outfitters

The above photos were taken behind the courthouse; while the below were taken at a fun little shop my sister and I happened upon in Cumberland, RI called Green Label Boutique.
