I Don’t Need Nobody to Tell Me Who To Be

Ready to sting, I am young and free

Moving is stressful, hellish. It takes way longer than expected. You find some things, lose some others. While I’ve apparently lost my favorite fall jeans (the perfect aubergine hue), I’ve found a box of vintage quilted bags I used in college, including this one in my absolutely favorite color in the world. Also fun about moving? Exploring the new ‘hood. These photos were shot by the Monroe St Market, a series of small businesses, artist shops, and restaurants. How amazing are the giant strung lights!? Z and I have been absolutely LOVING going out to eat around here, and with a new spot opening up each month there’s always more to try!

Anything Can Happen

Baby, I’ll give you everything you needSaraSsmall2-90 Grunge/punk looks are one of my go-to facades. It gives me a chance to show off my tattoos, shaved head, and piercings with some flair of personal style. I love that fall brings plaid and cozy flannels into the style-mix, as they’re great for layering when the mornings are chilly and afternoons are sunny and temped.

She’s The Giggle At A Funeral

20131027-182550.jpg

The Only Heaven I’ll Be Sent To Is When I’m Alone With You
The weather has been nearing frigid lately, at least compared to two weeks ago when temps were still in the 90s. I keep finding myself in a uniform of a button front shirt layered with a sweater or jacket, or both!
I put together this monochromatic, print playing look for work; casual, cool, with just enough edge to feel like myself. Though I still can’t believe I’ve conquered my fear of clashing prints AND my fear of dressing conservatively. DC has a grip in me, but it’s not TOO tight! 20131027-182521.jpg20131027-182617.jpg20131027-182642.jpgjeans from TJMaxx

Hopeless Girls Still Walk

S2_Done-17 On hot and humid days like we’ve been experiencing, it’s been my motto that less clothes is better. I’m talking free-boobing ladies! Seriously, on hot days there’s nothing better than throwing on a backless dress and some sandals and enjoying a bit of breeze where you normally wouldn’t get one (no, not THERE you sick-os!) I first fell in love with this dress at PacSun just under a year ago, and eventually found it on super sale at their outlet (after pondering it for a solid couple weeks). Ofcourse it’s a mix between two of my favorite colors, black and chartreuse, and the backless details allows for that nice breeze and a fun way to show off a little ink. My Darling I’m Taking My Life Back to Start Healing

If you haven’t caught on by now I’m quite a fan of the whole neon trend; more specifically the lime-ade hue. This caged back dress was the perfect addition to my closet, even if it’s a size too big. It has the perfect subtle hints of playfulness and sexiness.

As the Sky Darkens

Chipped neon nail polish and plenty of exposed skin. Summer, please don’t end. I never want to wear more than a casual leather jacket, draped across endlessly freckled shoulders.

Maybe these dreams could come true…I’ll keep you posted.

Garden City Plaza

I was feeling cabin feverish the other day so I decided to get outside. The Garden City shopping center in Cranston, RI was the perfect location! I could walk shop to shop between sunlight and air conditioning with my delicious Berry Hibiscus Refresher from Starbucks; damn those things are good.

Also, I get alot of questions about my tattoos and figured I’ll do a post about them. If anyone has any specific questions about them, comment with them and I’ll have them answered later this week!

Carnival Night

Contrary to last year, we took our trip to Old Orchard Beach’s seaside amusement park Palace Playland at night this year. The bright lights and whizzing rides were just what I needed after a long day under the sun. I obviously didn’t want to over do it with the “fashionableness” so I kept it casual. This tee was perfect with enough arm coverage to keep me warm and (mostly) protected from mosquitoes and um, it has a flamingo. It was obviously love at first site when I saw it at my local Zumiez.

Monochrome and Brown

20120615-121521.jpg

Sometimes it’s really hard to beg my friends and family enough to get them to take outfit posts for me, so my InstaGram gets a more “daily feed” of my looks than this here blog, but I do my best to get some good digital images when I can. This is a look I’m so sad never got photos taken of, but I figured I’d share the Insta’ photos with you, because it’s honestly not that bad.
